What is a "corrective emotional experience"?

What is "the corrective emotional experience" and how do you facilitate such a process in therapy? We look at the various levels at which this happens so that the patient has both a new and healing inner experience, as well as a corrective experience with you and others.

Thank you for this video! I'm a patient. My therapist mentioned I had a corrective emotional experience recently after debriefing her on a situation via email. I was curious if it was a term and started looking into it and this was a great explanation

Actually you are the one who would have to determine whether your experience was corrective or not!
