Who made vst 3 ?? Is Steinberg or presonus ??? I mean vst 3 !

VST is Steinberg's creation that the music production industry has adopted as the main plugin format. However, a new open-source format is gaining popularity fast, which is called CLAP. This will hopefully have much faster momentum due to being open-source, which is often community driven & the public can see the code base! 👍 itsgratuitous.com/

the modern vst synths are enough different from the legacy synths a lot of the time. they just sound different. still if your a semi pro wanting to support the industry I recomend subscription based access. vst writers and developers who organize their content to sell by availability give more feedback to users than per transaction merchants. this is a very interesting subject because it's a rare instance where both the free open source libraries and the copywriters are incredibly important to artists. the commercial products are priced fairly and offer enough new sound and interface options to make them a good start for cutting edge vibe. they are just as popular as open source legacy products as a result.

If you go subscription VST, what happens if you stop paying? You can't open your projects, right? That's why I suggest to students to not go for VST Subscriptions, as their music projects are held hostage if they do not own those plugins anymore. And I don't think that statement is true regarding more features & feedback.. many of my plugins come out with updates all the time.. If you still own a plugin version after the VST subscription ends, then my point about not being to open projects is no longer valid then: itsgratuitous.com/

there must be some reason sony does it that way. mostly. but that's not true in my experience it's true for adobe or sony games and softwaare but the only vsts I've paid money for and obtaind as a subscrion still work access to the databse for downloads was by subscription and they did it that way so the developers could all share@@itsGratuiTous

You are welcome! A VST is just a plugin we add into our music program! DAWs typically come with stock plugins, but third-party VSTs often give us more advanced functionality: itsgratuitous.com/what-is-a-vst/
