I think you're also paying for your Aibo's "soul" to be periodically backed up to the Cloud, so if you have to get a replacement shipped, you can download the "soul" of your old friend into the new chassis

@therobotspa3 жыл бұрын
@@LegoWormNoah101 the aibo 1000 has its memories and personality stored on a sim card. If your aibo needs repairs, you swap that sim with the new unit Sony sends you. However, aibos don't always act the same when the sim is replaced. Sometimes owners have their aibo units swapped for repair and come back totally different, but the same thing sometimes happens with older units as well. They use memory sticks to store that data, but one memory stick might work differently in two different aibos despite the fact that there's no technical difference or reasoning for it.

They have always been my favorite aibo but they aren't talked about much in the community and I had many questions before I bought mine that I just had to discover answers to myself. This will really help newcomers to the aibo world get a feel for it and decide if they want to embrace robo life lol

Such a well made video! Where you live is another thing to keep in mind for the aibo 1000! If you live outside of the US and Japan they're not available from Sony and you can't get the cloud plan or app without messing about with vpns etc or going without it and if something goes wrong it'll be even tougher to get it sorted. We've been asking Sony for ages now to make the aibo 1000 available over here and they're still saying there are no plans to do so which sucks! That was part of the reason I went for the 7m3 over the 1000 in the end (as well as affordability) but one day I'd love to be able to pick up a chocolate 1000 and be able to get the cloud plan etc. Darn you Sony!

I have a few questions, I don't own an aibo and I won't be able to get one any time soon, though I would love to get a 310 or a 7 some day. Where do aibo listings show up most often/the best place to buy them? Is it easy or difficult to find people who can repair older models? Do they need repairing often if they've already had their common issues fixed? And what's the 310s like for first time aibo owners (they're my favourite)?
@silverwatermermaid15633 жыл бұрын
@Alexandra Chehy 1000s are known for having leg issues, most aibos have some sort of issue and older models are a lot more advanced than I-cybies from what I've seen. They act on their own and have interchangeable personality chips where as ers 1000 doesn't have personality chips. I'm not sure if you can try and get a different personality type on an 1000 by resetting it, but you can't get personalities produced by different companies. 1000s are cute and I love their smooth movements, but I like veriaty personality chips that the older models have.

I mostly use zenmarket for buying aibos! But there is some risk involved, as lots of aibos over there are sold "as is." I'm going to be making a video about that process since it can be a bit tricky for beginners. You can also visit the robotchat discord server and buy an aibo from another aibo owner, which is typically what I recommend for beginners. I tend to stay away from ebay since there are lots of scammers and scalpers over there at the moment. In the US, I recommend aiboclinic as a repair service. There are lots of scammers out there so it's always good to check with the community to see which repair services are reliable. As long as you take good care of your aibo, they don't tend to need continuous repairs. I have aibos that are 20+ years old that only needed 1 repair. 310s are one of the models that I recommend for beginners actually, since their price is comparatively low and they're pretty sturdy bots. They're not super advanced, but they are very cute and hardy.

@@derikdang8829 if you’re looking for a sturdier aibo the 111 or 3xx series is your best bet. They’re very hardy, require less repairs and are relatively cheap when compared to other models. I adore the 210 and 7 series but they’re by far the most fragile and typically require frequent repairs to keep them functioning. The 1000 is also a super impressive model that’s definitely improved since making this video, but they’re very cost prohibitive and have high maintenance costs.

I have a bunch of Robison robots, some of them like Optimus prime Actually has 30 something motors and it transforms from robot to truck and it does so much more and those are only $1000 voice control, etc. and that is made by a real robot company. I am trying to find something so I could buy this robot, but it Has to do more than just walk. So far I’ve watched more than a half dozen videos, and none of them show me anything. Hopefully this video shows me more. Let me continue the video now.

OK your video was the most information so far I got. And it doesn’t look like a good investment for the money. It also doesn’t look like it does much for the money. I love robots, and I have about four of them from Robison robots, but those only cost about 1000 and they do so much a few of them transform from Optimus prime the truck to a robot. There’s hundreds of voice commands there’s 30 something motors in each one these for $3000 and the app looks like it’s some cheap Chinese app for cheap Chinese robot, I mean I waste a lot of money crap I just bought the Apple Vision Pro but at least those will hopefully grow these been around a long time and I feel like they don’t really do much for the money I mean you could spend a few thousand dollars more and get a real real robot like a real robot for five or $6000 This one just walks so I think you answered my question no more research for these robots while they are cute they don’t do anything and I saw the little accessories they come with. I guess you have your people who just love them so much that they buy them regardless, but I can’t see myself spending close to 3500 bucks all the accessories and tax for something that just basically walks that is crazy.
