Anyone heard of the story of ex Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn being hunted in Japan for no reason not even getting a fair trial in his home country? Hard working rich people are clearly not appreciated in their home countries. The fact that the guy brought Nissan out of bankruptcy doesn't matter. How many jobs he created - doesn't matter. He is too rich and it's unfair to poor people who don't want to work hard enough and educate themselves but watch TV every day. So let's screw rich people, right? Wrong! We should be more appreciated. And if we are not appreciated in our home country they deserve to loose us to tax heavens. Like if you agree.

The reason it costs so much money to become President of the United States is because the U.S. government has so much tax money and so many legal privileges to dole out. In other words, there is a solid return on investment. Play stupid socialist games, win stupid prizes.

183 day rule is only part of the problem. They go back two years. It's Or. Or if you spend 280 days or more in X over a period of two consecutive tax years, then you are tax resident. The key is to select somewhere and actually spend 183+ days there. If 'there' does not treat you best, as Mr. Henderson says, move again. It's the ability to move your flags, not where your flags are planted, that is important. America is the exception to everything. I love America, and I love Americans, but they own their citizens in a way that no other first world country does. Not only will they tax you for the rest of your life if you move, even if you don't spend a single day there again, but they will also charge you an exit tax if you renounce your citizenship. Herring, running for the Democrats, plans to significantly increase the exit tax.
