Grotesquerie honestly started out so good. Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Micaela Diamond created such great characters at the nun and the priest, and I will always love Niecy Nash. Then when I saw that great showdown between Lois and Sister Megan I was having such a great time. Then to find out it was all a God damn coma fever dream that Lois was having literally made me want to scream. One again, such great characters, a great start and then it just always end up devolving into nonsensical storyline and situations. Nip/Tuck is still one of my favorite series of all time. Ryan Murphy is still a genius, I just wish he would revisit all the stuff that made him so great in the first place.

Honestly Ryan Murphy has lost his magic and it's shown pretty early on most of his shows. He can make a banger of 3 - 4 seasons and the show just flat out get terrible after that. Same goes for Nip Tuck, Glee and Ahs. 9-1-1 is a better show because the characters are more realistic portrayed and it's a fun show, Ahs declined happened after the show dropped off from 13 episodes and not much story focus and am I the only one noticing that all of Ryan's shows are most less the same? Ratched felt like Ahs, Dahmer was different and then the second season of Monster was a total mess because of what Ryan did and then Grotesquerie that started off good to me just turned horrible by the end.

American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez was actually really good imo, it was a great study on the tragedy and horror of toxic masculinity, social pressure, and homophobia in hypermasculine spaces. Idk how involved Ryan Murphy actually was in that project though.

The first Ryan Murphy I watched was Coven, it was a great piece of ensemble work, it turned into mess at the end, which seems to be a Ryan Murphy hallmark, but people overlooked it because they were so invested in characters. That changed with Roanoke. Do you remember anything of the plot of Roanoke the same way you remember Liz Taylor and Ramona Royale from Hotel?

One thing I've noticed is people don't want to let things end, just in general. If your all-star teams starts moving on, that's a sign that maybe it's time to let it go. You can very much feel the absence of the OG cast and writers. With Ryan having so many irons in so many different fires, he needs teams of the same caliber to keep things running properly.

ryan murphy productions have 3 criteria: 1. great concept but failed in the execution. 2. too many loose ends of storylines that went nowhere. 3. uses shock factor instead of quality storytelling. also, just getting this off my chest: kathy bates was SEVERELY underutilised in AHS. he should've given her a LEAD in one season. just like jessica lange pulled top billings for past seasons, kathy could've been that horror queen in AHS franchise

Personnally, since Keke Palmer and Angelica Ross called him out, I'm a little bit less intrested in Ryan Murphy's new projects. Especially because he seems to have a gigantic ego and he's kinda weird fetishizied young men like he did in the Menendez series. I'm not gonna be surprised if he gets cancelled in years to come because he's more and more creepy... And it's a true fan of Murphy's work who talks here so...

The further away Delicate removed itself from the book the worse it got, and I was literally eyerolling at how bad the script got on a weekly basis as they were trying to veer it in an entirely different direction. They changed a lot of the book just to build Kim Kardashian's role which was small but important in the book, just a mess in the tv series.

I honestly think he doesn't care about the legacy of AHS anymore. It's taken a major nosedive from Double Feature on. It's very obvious that he's much more interested in his other projects (Monster(s), etc.) and is only continuing AHS as more of an obligation to its fans. I think the next season should be the last.

First, I didn't realize Ryan Murphy produced Nip/Tuck! I should have known because that show was wild af especially near the end LOL. Second, I personally think RM, has way to much going on which is a good thing but I think he has reached a level of having a high budget and studios giving him free reign. Also, I have noticed a lot of his shows will start out with a cohesive idea but later become very fantasy driven. That's all well and good if the show starts out that way or marketed that way but if I want a real true crime. I've noticed that most of his shows have this glowy, green, red, or golden hue over scenes I don't know what its indicating but its there. I saw the first episode of Dr. Odyssey, and it's not bad. It reminds me of a show that should be on USA network back in the day. I dipped out of AHS after Apocalypse, honestly I wanted to stop watching during Cult.

I would still be rooting for Ryan to succeed if he was just doing bad uninspired shows. However, the whole Monster series and how he never reached out to victims' families or survivors, yet tells their stories in a weirdly titillating and objectifying way despite the wishes of the people involved... it goes into unethical territory. He refuses to acknowledge that fact and there's no way I can root for someone like that.

I am a fan of Murphy but I agree, the quality has slipped a little. This is the way Hollywood works and always has. I can see it with Taylor Sheridan with the expansion of the Yellowstone phenom. It's a different genre, but he too is working on a ton of projects. My biggest gripe about Hollywood is that they latch on to something successful and squeeze it dry until everybody is sick of it. A great example is "From" and "Teacup" which are the same premise as "Lost" and I am already bored of it, but Hollywood is still making money from it so, here we are.
