This book is widely used in West Africa. The sefer Yetzirah delves into the jewish alfabet and the significance of each letter. Rather than using the significance of each letter to construct talismans for protection though, the Sefer Yetzirah speaks on the letters in a way that describes their importance.

@@Omarproof that's not a section. From what I understand there is no section on harmful rituals, simply associations and correspondences. In the main these are harmless, even benevolent. Yes by placing malevolent intent into a specific correspondence harm is possible. But as I say you would need an in depth understanding of Shams Al-Ma'arif, Islam and a great deal of experience for this to happen. Of course some modern collections, especially from Middle East in the 1960s, may contain such a section, but these are hardly original.

In other words I don't believe Shams Al-Ma'arif to be a grimoire for destroying ones enemies. I might be wrong, but I have never come across a how to destroy your enemies in the book in simple terms that a non scholastic Kaffir could follow. Of course there are many ways to destroy ones enemies and many books on such subjects. Indeed when I taught at a major business school this was one such subject. That's my point, not that Shams Al-Ma'arif is entirely benevolent, but that determined people can get up to bad things using whatever means they have. Spending a lifetime learning classical Arabic, about Islam and deciphering Shams Al-Ma'arif is hardly the easiest method.

No this has nothing to do with God, it’s book on how you can get access to black magic and demonic presence, to do so this book explains the different rituals. Bro, there is no such thing as Islamic talismans. Talismans are prohibited in Islam and believing that talismans protect you is in of itself an act of disbelief in god (that's what Islam tells us not my opinion) Also if you were to say that you don't believe that the talisman protects you but you use it as a way to seek protection from god (Allah) Then this is also prohibited and in Islam we ask god (Allah) to protect us and the prophet peace be upon him told us to read certain verses from the Quran and say certain prayer to be protected by Allah. And he warned us from falling for these traps and using talismans. So basically if you follow this book you'll end up going astray from Islam. Do not be fooled, and don't follow the steps of the devil. Do what our prophet told us and avoid everything he warned us about.

Some guy in the comment section said that when he was given a copy decades ago, his whole household changed. Amongst other things, he was fighting with his wife all the time. The wife then realised that it all changed when he brought that book home. She told him to get rid of it. He did, and bliss returned to their home.

To use quranic verses in such a distorted way (not to mentiin that people who do that always mention names of shayateen as well or distort a name of God) as well as using the quran in any form of talisman is forbidden and counts as shirk because then yoi expect prote tion from the words of Allah or from words in general (and it mostly involves shayateen too) instead of Allah Himself alone.
