so just to be clear the insulin receptors stop working properly because the fat cell has increased too much in size and its molecular structure has changed in a way that is denying insulin, hence insulin resistance.

Great explanation. As far as I understand it, insulin is like a key and the fat cells are like doors that are locked. Insulin resistance occurs when the locks change their shape (fat cell gets bigger), and then the key does not fit properly. It's hard to open a door with an ill-fitting key. The insulin has to go somewhere, so then insulin levels increase in the bloodstream, which is bad news for the entire body.
@MyHealthExplained4 жыл бұрын
Junk Lardass Almost. On the surface of the cell is a lock ( think of the cell as a room). When the room is full the lock stops working. This stops more sugar getting into the locked room. Blood sugar then rises

I get the idea of building a tolerance (assuming too much insulin would be similar to taking any exogenous hormone like testosterone or neurotransmitter like opiates) so body reacts in an attempt to get back to homeostasis. Something senses too much insulin and something happens(what???) to slow down production and eventually to completely stop? What cause the panactries to no longer be able to produce insulin? why cant it start back up say from getting whatever signal it was getting before to produce it?

Best explanation ever Dr 💋💋💋but what if I’m not overweight at all I think it’s good idea to take few deep breath when eating to relax body and visualise/command your cells to open up to receive energy/nutrients/food, to open up for optimal nutrient assimilation Don’t rush it, I think rush eating making us diabetic and not eating for extended periods of times. have some fruit in between meals, if u r on renal diet choose low potassium ones. Blueberries are always great😊there is also music for insulin resistance( I use karmic beats insulin resistance music) I’m not overweight , just a regular body but I have problems with this , my body struggles. and cut down on coffee ☕️ it can create same problem , it creates adrenaline fatigue in the long run 🏃♀️ with affect how your pancreas works which results in insulin resistance. yes you can sprint with coffee but we are on a marathon ; if you get my metaphor. Don’t go crazy on changing your habits , do it in little increments, add some fruits , cut other things slowly (trust me I tried) than tweak, than tweak a little more And don’t forget to breathe! -Have some patience than tweak~sending you guys Love n Healing. Also consuming goods fats destroys fat and lower glucose. Omega 3 and 9. Avocados are great along with a banana and yam potato(cook first) and add to smoothie mixture. I am learning our body is ran on good fat cholesterol hdl which should be HIGH to experience healing in our body so always check level either with your doctor or a blood lab and we must have LOW ldl and vldl which is bad fat. Vldl is the more toxic cholesterol called cholesterol oxidation this cholesterol cause diseases in our body. doctors don't test for this cholesterol...I wonder why?🤔 but you can ask for a lipid fractionation test which measures the density of your cholesterol. small density is not good this tell you to eat more good fats to clean bad fats out your system.

Not exactly. In the liver high levels of insulin, caused by insulin resistance in the muscle and fat cells, is sensed by liver cells (hepatocytes). When the liver senses all this insulin it leads to a breakdown in the ability of the liver to regulate the storage of glucose. Instead of retaining glucose in the liver if the blood sugars are high it releases too much glucose, making blood sugars higher.

So.... can you have insuline resistance and normal weight? I am very slim, but my blood glucose gets very high, and my doctor told me I am dealing with insulin resistance - based on my blood glucose levels and health issues. I don’t have any weight to lose though.....
@MyHealthExplained4 жыл бұрын
More likely you have insulin deficiency ( not enough insulin) rather than insulin resistance

@@MyHealthExplained Would my course of action be the same? Low glycemic diet, maybe lower carb? I have a blood glucose monitor at home. My morning glucose falls between 6.1 and 6.7 and after my breakfast went up to 11.7. Other meals made blood sugar too high as well but not into diabetic range.

@@MyHealthExplained Sir, excuse my multiple reactions here.... I just remembered... I had DNA testing done a few years ago, and there is a chapter titled Type 2 Diabetes...... I just checked. Several genes show to contribute to lower insulin secretion I believe..... And it states I would be at higher risk for higher blood glucose because of this! I suppose this probably means you are correct.... And it would explain my normal weight paired with high blood glucose. What would one do with this info?
@MyHealthExplained4 жыл бұрын
yes I think eating LOWER carb rather than low carb makes sense with those results.. if despite this your sugars are often high it might be worth thinking about insulin sooner rather than later...based on your readings that you shared not just yet though :)
@MyHealthExplained4 жыл бұрын
genes and type 2 diabetes and still a scientific exercise rather than a useful test for day to day treating people. We are still finding new genes and for most people its about multiple genes rather than a single gene problem...Sometimes with diabetes it just is and there is no explanation..only 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are overweight

So does it mean that it accumulates insulin in the body because it can enter the fat cell therefore body is resistant to insulin?
@MyHealthExplained3 жыл бұрын
The cells are resistant to insulin so you need more insulin to get sugar into the cells. Causes 3!problems…high sugars in blood, pancreas wears out so eventually insulin levels fall and high blood insulin levels which make you hungrier.

Then why fat cells never get bigger in size and show insulin resistance in younger age or up to the age of 30.And what is the reason that cells suddenly starts getting bigger and become insulin resistance as we get older or after the age of 30 or 35. Do our fat cells performance changed with age ?

This video hits the core issue, but misses parts of the problem that are explained in lots of other videos in YT, that ironically miss this core issue. Insulin resistance is caused by constant exposure to high levels of insulin (which forces your body to store fat beyond its normal capability, hence fat cells get bigger), and it takes time to have this damage done. When you are young your body produces hormones that keep your metabolism up and protect you from this damage to some extent. As you get older this protection decreases, and the exposure to insulin also had more time to cause damage. High insulin levels are due to eating too many times a day, and ro eating an excess if carbohydrates, especially high glycemic index carbs such as sugar, bread (anything nade with flour really), pasta, rice and potato. Also eating trans fats and vegetable oil (canola, soybean, sunflower) causes general inflammation in your body that helps to cause insulin resistance and damages your arteries. I encourage you to look for information about intermittent fasting (Jason Fung) and ketogenic diet.

@@angelluisf7730Thank you! Does this explain why I (32F) am dealing with insuline resistance (based on my blood glucose and health issues) but have a very normal weight? I basically have no weight to lose..... My doctor told me to eat low glycemic and look into time restricted feeding, and going for walks on an empty stomach in the morning. But yeah.... weight loss is out of the question for me, so it’s hard to understand the concept of insulin resistance in my case....

@@M_K_M_K_M_K there are different factors that depend on each person. Race for example seems to be very important. It's known that Asian people (China, India) usually don't get so overweight even being very insulin resistant or even full blown diabetic. They seem to be more prone to increase their visceral fat and have fatty liver, while white people usually get fat faster. With time, anyone with IR will have all these problems, but depending on you DNA some will appear earlier than others. Not being overweight is a big advantage for you, that means your body is not additionally damage due to carrying this extra load around, your ankles, knees, back, are still in good shape, and its easier for you to increase your physical activity. Sten Ekberg has great videos about this whole thing, but he has a couple especially good about exercise vs IR. Besides low intensity exercise (walking) it would be beneficial for you to do HIIT and also weight lifting to increase your muscle mass (and since you're a woman, no, you'll never look like a male body builder no matter how hard you train, yiu simply don't have the testosterone level that is necessary for that).

@@M_K_M_K_M_K I add that you should consider not simply going low carb but change to a keto diet (very low carb, moderate protein, fat as high as required to reach your caloric needs). IF and keto complement each other in keeping your insulin low.
