I knew it! I've been eating 3 to 4 eggs a day all my life, especially when I used to lift weights. I heard all the "Egg whites only" nonsense and will admit there was a time back in the 90s where I tried egg whites only. I found I did not put on muscle (this was during my lifting years) but in fact struggled with it, and I also found my testosterone levels down. When I went back to consuming the yolks too, everything went back to normal. Of course back then I'd eat as many as 6 to 8 a day as I was in my 30s, lifting hard and regularly and could handle it. Over time I did some research and discovered that they actually make testosterone for injection out of "cholesterol" especially egg yolks. So I saw a connection right there and never scooped out a yolk again. Now as I'm about to turn 61 this month, I eat 3 a day, usually sunny side up or as an omlette and I'm doing fine. I always believed they helped with t levels and I always believed I put on better muscle when I leaned more on egg protein than meat or other sources. Excited to see someone confirm what I now know I knew all along.

I will say if you have extra room on your property you should absolutely raise chickens. Ideally if they can free range. Other than the obvious egg laying benefits, 1. They eat all the bugs in the yard, 2. They keep down mice and snakes. 3. They devour all table scraps that you give them. 4. Their poop can be turned into fertilizer. Also a fun pet for kids. I was a huge skeptic on the idea initially but I would recommend everyone doing it if they could.

Not only oils. If you look at American movies up until the 80's everyone was thin. This is because In the 70's the US Govt and food industry decided to replace healthy fats (eg eggs, avocado, nuts, fatty fish etc) with Sugary foods, specifically High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) because it's a cheap byproduct of the most grown crop in America: Corn. Not only are Americans addicted to sugar but the portion sizes have also doubled. By the 80's and 90's obesity spiked. It is now the leading cause of death in America.

Dr. Berg have you had your TMAO checked? The egg yolk is rich in choline and compounds that are converted by certain gut bacteria to an intermediary compound and that the liver converts to TMAO. TMAO is atherogenic and increases risk of heart attacks. My lipidologist tested me for it and it was high. It reverted to normal after I substituted my daily whole one egg for breakfast to just egg white. The other foods that raise TMAO are red meats.

@Peter North Rising I used to think that (no doubt the yolk is nutritious) till recently and ate only one whole egg (over easy cooked in olive oil for breakfast) till my lipidologist (cardiologist subspecialty) tested me for TMAO, an atherogenic compound (can read about it online) formed in the blood (from yolk degradation by certain gut bacteria) that increases risk of heart disease. It was high. He told me to to eliminate the yolk and now I eat only the egg white. My TMAO came down to normal in the follow up test 3 months later. The other foods that raise TMAO are red meats, that I don't eat. Please do your own research and have your doctor test you for TMAO.

Ash Sharma who defines what is “high”? Lipids have been given a pad rap by those who profit off of cholesterol meds. If you REALLY want to know your risk for atherosclerosis go get a CAC score. People with the lowest scores eat the most saturated fat and no sugars. Cholesterol isn’t the problem. Sugar is. Cholesterol is implicated when it’s found at the scene of the crime- but that’s like accusing firefighters of starting the fire just because they are there.

Hello there😊 What did you do if you don't mind sharing? Thanks in advance.

Probably following Dr Berg and eating a keto diet. I've lost 40 lbs in five months, I have another 20 to go. I eat 3 or 4 fried eggs for breakfast and a protein salad for lunch sometimes followed by berries with natural yoghurt. Simple!

@@gardeninginthedesert ...Thanks so much for taking time to answer my question because yes I too follow DR. BERG but just was hoping someone would be willing to share how an what has been working for them exactly....because even with what Doc shares we all somehow find our unique way of preparing, paring things together (dishes) etc., to make it work for us OR someone else an find value in what an how you do it... that's the whole point of sharing. Again Thank you!

I was eating 6 eggs a day for awhile, always sunny side up, always cooked whites, warm yolks. I would cheat sometimes and have an omelet, more cooked yolks. I tried not to cheat. Finally, I got sick of eggs. I didn't eat them for awhile. I just had 4 free, range organic eggs. I love the occasional omelet. I'm thinking making the whites, then adding the pre-cooked filling along with the beaten yolks.

For years egg’s triggered my migraines (along with many other foods such as chocolate) but now, after going low carb I’ve found I can eat eggs again .... fabulous cos I love them

Eggs are not dairy. Did you eat cheese or milk back then? They can trigger headaches, but not eggs.

Margriet O'Regan I used to be Not able to eat eggs while eating lots of carbs. But now I can eat lots of them with no problems what so ever. I used to think I was allergic to them. Lol.

Sandra Bentley You can get headaches from eating eggs. However only if you don’t tolerate them. Sucks because I used to eat eggs a few times a week no problem and then I guess I developed an allergy to them. Listen to your body because I’m pretty sure the reason I can’t tolerate them anymore is because I ate too many of them after a fairly long fast.

@Hippy Dippy Of course, chocolate isn't dairy, but have you not heard of MILK chocolate? Do you live in Europe or something? Even dark, bittersweet chocolate has milk in it. Not all, but most. All you had to do was google it.

If you were vegan 4 years and now your consuming animal products that clearly states you went vegan for all the wrong reasons.

This is the video that justified my daily first meal: 5 eggs with butter (I also breakfast around 2-3 pm). 💪😀
