What is Line of Reasoning?

Today's video offers multiple definitions for "line of reasoning," and it even provides a quick idea for an assignment.
Note: I am well aware that "Learning to Read and Write" is a narrative the exposes how Douglass learns SO MUCH MORE about subjugation, systemic racism, social oppression, and the like. But, for the sake of this video, and for the sake or introducing the concept, I merely commented on the surface claim of "learning to write." I would expect that teachers would discuss the added complexities of social abuses and tensions in class.
