What is meant by the term Moral Injury? What is Survivor Guilt?

Yes. I struggle with this, and not from a military context. It has to do with family relationships and people who have died.

Thank you I was injured and struggled to return to form and was released and in that time I went from honorable good soldier to someone that was faking a injury....and now lost contact with even the friends from that time....starting to understand....again thank you

Been following several videos on "moral injury". As you say, when I heard the term, I realized: that's it! That's what I've been trying to describe about what's holding me back! Not from a military context. The word that he focuses on here is "honor", and having that sense of honor taken away from you. This has been a word that I use often in trying to describe what's going on, and why therapy has been terribly disappointing.

I also immediately recognized the burden I have been carrying as a "moral injury" as soon as Dr. Ochberg described it in this video. Mine is also not from a military context, but knowing what it is has really helped me release the torment.

I feel like my family court case left me feeling deeply shocked by how the system works and betrayed an let down by the system. Leaves me with a deep sense of injustice an moral outrage at what took place. Years later I am still deeply angry at the system. If I could shut the whole system down I would. If family court or CAFCAS even the police are mentioned I find hard to contain my anger. An I will spend the whole night rethinking what took place. Going from a friend to the system and even the country, to someone who hates it and would tear it down. Its exhausting. You need to feel like the truth matters and that some kind fairness is been observed or you start seeing injustice everywhere. You start finding fault everywhere.

Viet Nam vet, 15 months, long history heart problems, agent orange, PTSD, survived all my friends I grew up with, recently diagnosed with a stroke, had procedure on right carotid, left is 100% occluded, just having some slight double vision in left eye, my friends who passed, didn't have nearly the problems I had, I don't understand all this !!!
