Wow. Some of these staff just don't know what they don't know. I had some pretty bad instructions in my rehab place (though not in the hospital.) - This explanatory video you've made hits the question spot as far as all the things I was wondering. Very useful and empathetic! And I only looked at it to see your cheerful personality! The rest was all a bonus.

Got the sample of it because u recommend it and wow it’s awesome! I love ConvaTecs ring but the paste can make it faster and it makes my bag last longer!

I have decided not to use barrier paste any longer. I now use barrier rings which are working better for me. I have 4 tubes never opened or used expiring 10/9/2024. Can you use them or would you know who I can donate them too? Thank you so much.

I am allergic to the adept paste from Hollister. I have two ulcers surrounding my stoma. I've had so much trouble since the surgery in March. Lots of wound care visits and no real help to get these to heal. I may order some paste from Coloplast since I use their bags also. I am also allergic to the adhesive on the Hollister bags, so had to change companies. Night and day difference.

I am also allergic to hollister bags and the adhesive. Surprisingly not the rings tho. The Coloplast rings I am extremely sensitive to and they don't work.

I use stomahesive paste and put a thin layer directly around the stoma ....place a ring over the paste and a pouch over the ring.....this will fill in any gaps and reenforce the pouch around the stoma and you get longer wearing time....

Do you ever have issues with it "absorbing" too much waste and covering the stoma area? I have that issue with the rings and am looking into paste options to help solve this issue

@@gimygaming8655 in my experience, the rings are notorious for soaking in stool. Sticking with only paste worked for my situation

You say you use adhesive paste after applying the flange . I sometimes apply/use the adhesive paste on the stoma prior to adhering pouch. The stoma nurse I deal with showed me that routine. Hollister paste and sometimes Hollister pouches I use

I haven't tried the Adapt one yet. I ordered a sample to come to me. I am currently using ConvaTec and like having it as an added barrier but, as Hollister Adapt products work better for me and my little "Monster" I want to try it and I am just going to add it to my monthly supply list regardless? In my book Hollister is equivalent of Disneyland park compared to a state fair ; )

Amber, what's the best way to put on a thin even amount of paste around the flange? I've tried before and seem to squeeze to much in one area and then thinner amount in others. Then when I put on the flange and press the bag down the paste oozes into the bag making the plastic bag a little sticky. Thanks for any application tips.

Hey there! I try to just apply a constant amount of pressure and move quickly around the Flange in a circle. It’s hard to get the hang of. If it’s oozing you’re getting too much! If you watch my how to change an ostomy bag video you will see how I put it on there! :)

Hi Amber, I have some redness under my stoma. Is Ostomy Paste good to put over the redness. I also have a indention on the left & right side of my stoma. Is the Paste good to put in that.

I use stoma powder to help with irritation. If it gets too bad you should contact a stoma nurse! 🤗
