Hey 👋🏾 just want to clarify in this video we said we’re only talking about the people who harass us about religion or try to judge our lives without knowing anything. We’re not talking about the people who are kindly asking or genuinely curious. That’s understandable. We have no problem with that!

It should not take an entire video to say you not going to answer the question. Me personally I don't care either way. Honestly who cares what anybody religion is ! But talking on and on is boring 😑😑

Hi Amena, the reason people ask is because they want to know you deeper. They want to understand how you handle a relationship with different religioun and different cultures. It is a reason for a lot of failed relationships or prevents relationships. But you obviously are doing great managing all your differences and having a happy relationship. Personally I don’t have the willingness to be in a relationship with someone who has a different religion. I’m just not willing to tackle that but I respect people who do and I admire it. People are asking because they want to know how you make it work. It is not easy......halal or no halal, Tsom, church or mesgid? Stay blessed. You guys are a great example for the next generation

I think you should share what your religion is and be transparent about your level of observance because you can make a positive impact in someone's life. When you choose not to talk about it, the viewer may feel you are ashamed, embarrassed or not knowledgable about your own faith and how its shaped your culture and lifestyle. The only way to build bridges of tolerance is to share your religious practices and make parallels with other reigious beliefs, highlighting common values. Another point is that many culture's food, clothing and customs are influenced by the dominant religion. It's a great way to educate others.

I think it's because even though Ethiopians can be muslim or Jewish they are well known for being Orthodox Christians and most people view Sudanese as Muslims. And in Islam there is this rule that Muslim women can't marry Christian men. But you are right it's your business. Okay so from someone that was born and raised in Ethiopia. Religion is almost a lifestyle, it’s what people depend on for their well being. Maybe i grew around super religious people but MOST Ethiopians are very vocal about their religion. So if you get these kind of questions from Ethiopians try to not taking it as someone harassing you or being nosy. I love you both. Don't really care about your religious observations but the Mark Weins comparison is a far cry. Mark is an American tourist sampling food of all cultures. Amena, you are Sudanese. Elias, you are Ethiopian. You two come from very culturally rich backgrounds rooted deeply in religion. Your videos focus primarily on each other's cultures and you teach other about it whilst sharing it with the rest of the world on youtube (thanks btw as I really enjoy your content). However, whether you are religious or not, there is no denying that religion is a fundamental part of your cultures. Heck, it is ingrained deeply in the languages as well. So it is only natural that your viewers from those regions are curios. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't shy away from showing the world what harmony looks like. Alternatively, if I wanted to keep its sanctity behind closed doors, I wouldn't have addressed it at all. All in all, keep doing what you're doing and never stop having fun. \(-_-)/

Hi Amena and Elias . To shed some light on the curiosity of others and myself in Ethiopia there was a lot about you celebrating Easter there so of course if someone assumed you were Muslim this would be opposite to Islamic beliefs. Maybe there are similar videos on your channel with you and Elias attending Eid festivities together or Ramadan prayers. Dunno. So perhaps it was not a promotion of one and demotion of the other but it is a soft form of discussion and sharing of a particular religious perspective. To say you have never discussed religion would be disingenuous. I don't know you all and make no assumptions. I've seen a few videos and this is my first comment. Just adding a different POV.
