I asked my gynecologist if I could be estrogen dominant. She got mad at me for asking. She said she’s never heard if it then asked me where I learned this. She is no longer my gynecologist.

So you fired her? Good for you! It's almost funny that she got mad at you because she's a gynecologist: she works with women's reproductive health every day. Of course estrogen will be involved! It needs to be in balance with progesterone, or major problems start to develop. Good for you; seek out informed, compassionate doctors!

I feel you might find a couple in private practice. Most Drs feel they don't work for you because they don't usually get a check directly from you. They get it from social entities like Medicaid or whatever so they wrongly think you're getting things for free. Alot of them seem to forget what they learned in medical school because all they do is prescribe the drugs the pharmaceutical salesmen taught them about during dinner. Sometimes they are saturated with appointments and want to get each appointment as quickly as possible so this also helps them forget anything they might know about nutrition or vitamins and minerals and it's easier to just prescribe pain medication anything that can numb you until next time. If you talk about something you have been learning health wise they think you are teaching them and they may seem lofty at times. On a side note my pediatrician is actually quite good and helpful and where I live I think they are not as saturated with appointments.

@NanetteCallison
@NanetteCallison 3 жыл бұрын
Not hidden per se but most docs don’t understand the impact of diet on our bodies. Their education is next to nothing on nutrition in their Med degree studies. I do however feel Dr Berg has left so much out in this discussion. I have been taking bio identical hormones for years. We need it for breast cancer provention, heart protection and so much more. Think about it, rates of heart disease and cancer in women skyrocket after menopause when our estrogen plummets. Bio identical hormone replacement hasn’t received the study it should as with so many women’s health issues. However the studies that have been peer reviewed and published show that balancing hormones before and after menopause can have tremendous positive effect.

This is 100% me. I started my period at age 9, developed PCOS in my 20’s and never had a regular period. 100% sure that birth control sent me into a horrible tail spin that caused an-ovulation and a host of other issues I am still struggling with. When I started eating vegetables (because I wasn’t eating any before,) I started ovulating and dropping weight. Whenever I am eating 50% or more veggies I am healthy and trim. When I stop I put weight on exactly where you indicated. It is very challenging for me to stay where I should be with my eating and my weight.

Anna Health Coach - Naturopath this could be said about plenty of other foods. Like corn for ex. (Which actually soy beans have protein content same as other beans. To say soy beans is “not food” is very insensitive and hurtful to cultures where they eat soy based foods.

I’m Sorry that happened to you but I doubt tofu was the cause. You do know plenty of cultures eat tofu and other soy products like miso for example for literally over centuries and centuries. It is a big part of their culinary identities. If soy was really all around bad, then don’t you think these ppl would have noticed ill effects? The truth is that some soy products could be bad, but that doesn’t mean ALL soy is bad.

We africans and decendants are more estrogen dominant, that is why we are curvier. So proper nutrition is key for weight management

I'm still unable to have a good night's sleep I'm strangling with insomnia but I have done an improvement with insulin since I'm in keto now. My cholesterol is still high so I had to cut down on cheese and other dairy products. I used to be obsessed with cheese and other dairy products. I have always struggled with migraines literally since I was a child and it’s difficult for me to take birth control because of my migraines and I was 30 years old when a Dr actually told me all those symptoms are because I had to much estrogen... it’s also a fact like Dr. Berg said people with high estrogen that have early periods in their life have difficulty conceiving or may not conceive as easy as some people I definitely fall in that category.
