I'm sure he's fixed it by now but for anyone watching this. Don't waste your money guessing. It's very difficult to determine between CV and Wheel bearing by sound only. A visual inspection and checking for play and in which direction if there is play. Do what you can to get as close to each part, as possible. Don't play the part swapping game and if you take it.somewhere it's still best to know what it is or you might be up sold on a whole new suspension. Good luck!

@@damon323A CV joint is typically found on the front end of vehicles. It has a rubber boot usually close to the tire that protects it from contamination. A CV axle is typically found on the rear of vehicles. It's fully metal and completely slides into the differential. It also 90% comes attached to a new hub.

So that can be a few things that could be a wheel bearing ball joint could also be stabilizer end links I would have your entire suspension rebuilt thing about heavy trucks and cars once you put pressure on the one part they all start to fail after each one so to just fix the entire problem 1 time and not have to deal with it again replace the entire suspension system the truck is old enough so it’s not out of expectation to have multiple parts fail.
