What size 2 pound bag is? In inches or cm
@MattRoadhouse
@MattRoadhouse Жыл бұрын
I used to ensure my first bulk expansion was Hull-on Oats - they break up super easy and you can get massive coverage within a 5lb bag of grain. As long as there's only 3-4" of space between each kernel, the amount of time and distance you need to fully colonize is minimal. 5 days sometimes. Sure you need to wait for a consolidation period, but the odds something is going to hatch is nearly zero. It's already been eaten

Fact's I went from a 100% success rate for a long time so I decided to double my spawn jar sizes as I had a huge caner & after almost a year I realized what changed was the size of the jars. I was one of the first to master corn & I couldn't figure out what happened until I went back to the small jars & back to 1oo% but I definitely agree with the master grains being bird seed corn brown rice. I'm far from green & I'm going to try liquid culture with manure based oyster powder rich substrate next. I'm jealous I haven't been able to do anything for a yr and a half

Have you seen pictures of WL growing from upside down jars into soil/gardens? I don't have the setup to grow sterile so I was wondering if thats the better way instead of breaking up the mycelium into a garden bed layered woodchip setup.
@RaceReady2A
@RaceReady2A Жыл бұрын
No never seen it. I don’t have a lab or sterile set up either. If you use mushrooms that like to grow outdoors and are not like 100% lab influenced strains that can’t handle fighting off bacteria or mold then you will be successful . As long as you be super clean and use sterile products when you inoculate your spawn bags. I’m in the PNW in Oregon City and I live at a decent elevation and my state has native Psil. Cyanescens so I grow those and they are already set and adapted for what’s to come. I will note that I did a1 lb spawn bag of A+ Albino and waited till 100% colonization and then blended it into manure and straw hay and put it in the sun. It gets water every day and I just checked its about to be creeping to the top of the hay so even Cubensis that are not natural can be done outside

@BarackObamaJedi
@BarackObamaJedi Жыл бұрын
It's not necessary for like no pour agar jars, but I don't see it going well for grains. I already sometimes have had wet rot bacteria because not enough Fae (usually it was a larger jar with a single 1/4 hole covered with micropore)
@kratoslament8218
@kratoslament8218 Жыл бұрын
Actually, Agar is the way to get those grows. If you don't have good mycelium growth, then you won't get canopy growths. The amount of grain also depend on the ratios to substrate. But if you take a spore syringe to grain, no matter what your grain is there is no guarantee a full flush. If you have good mycelium growth before putting it in grain then you are going to get a full flush everytime. Agar is the way to go for amazing flushes everytime!
@kratoslament8218
@kratoslament8218 Жыл бұрын
@Sum Buddy no exactly. This is not like marijuana. Every spore dump has all types of genetics in it. The point to agar is to find the good genetics out of the group and separate it so it can grow strong and healthy without fighting off other genetics. One spore syringe is filled with bad and good genetics regardless of what mushroom it came from. That is why I stand by agar. If done correctly and with patience, you will have canopies every time.

If you are talking about pan cyans you also need to case them if you want it to really pin and flush well. You can use hydrated vermiculite or potting soil if you've never made a casing layer before. I would also suggest pasteurizing it before putting on the substrate, also the substrate needs to be fully colonized before casing.
@stricnine69

@Tony Stewart yes pan cyans. I did not know that about the casing layer. Both of my tubs are fully colonized. I have about 50 pounds of vermiculite on hand as well as some coco coir and gypsum. Thing is, finding the spores. ALL of "my" flushes have gone "bye-bye" for some reason. I'm in PNW also, Seattle AND Portland both. Have seen these grow in both states... some of the BEST "mind-clearing", natural substance that this "Realm" has given us. Aside from Ayahuasca, that is.... Yeah brotha I just got hardwood pellets from Wilco farm store and mixed in rabbit poop and chicken poop in my wheel barrel (both had been in the sun drying for weeks for this to UV kill any icky shit) I boiled 8 gals of water on my distillery burner and dumped it in. After it cooled I dumped that on some wood chips and then spread my 8lb fully colonized spawn bag which had oak and coffee and rye and mixed that in. I then took hardwood shavings and covered that up and put black garden plastic over it all and the branches I cut off my tree on that for camo

@@RaceReady2A Nice... VERY nice!! Yeah, I've not delved THAT deep into it... just know that they are wood-loving and grass loving as well... MUCH more wood than grass though. I always thought the grass was for water retention for they myce. Last "manual" flush just used wood chips, a freezer box (literally) and like y'all said branches from the Alder to cover "to taste". ; ) Started spring, by fall had a full-on flush. Of course, chipped the entire area as well. Never used the manure (chicken or cow... cow again, mostly grass...) didn't know Psi Cyans needed ANY type of manure to grow... IF you don't mind, y'all SOUND like you're in the PNW like me. "We" are VERY lucky to have this variety up here... one of the most "potent" that I've found. : ) Both WA and OR varieties. Although prefer WA over OR any day. : ) But that may just be a "me" kinda thing. : ) On the flip, OR is okay to have them on one's possession. No more "police raids" on the shore, from what I HEAR!! IDK though, not gonna "test" it out. lol. Have enough land now, that I can let them grow "wild" there... just gotta find some good spores/prints. One of my ex's threw ALL of my 3-ring binders of nothing but prints out, when I left. : / Meh! Whaddya do!?! Heh! "Life"!! Say? Have you noticed a DECLINE in "natural" flushes lately? My every year, on the dot, up to about ~10 years ago... all started to "dry-up". Even chipped the areas myself but to no avail. And the mycelium is there, but there are a LOT of varieties up here (as y'all know) so telling which is which is near impossible... at least, for me, it is...
