Here's my experience watching this video: 1. First impression seeing the thumbnail, title, and channel name: This must be the third/fourth highest subscribed to channel on religious studies on youtube after Religion For Breakfast and Let's Talk Religion. 2. Half a second into the video: impression continues, it's a well-produced video, professionally made. 3. I see the sub count at 247 subs, I immediately think "this channel must've copied the video from a more successful channel and this video is going viral or something. 4. I see the channel itself and am now convinced this is legit and am excited to see the rest of the videos! 14:01 in the Vatican they have an old version of Hebrew Matthew that is longer at parts, shorter at parts and has two times that Jesus fed huge crowds with only a few baskets of bread and fish. Supposedly both times put together were supposed to calculate in bread times fish into the beginning of the end times. Anyway, most sayings in Gospel of Thomas like these are in the Hebrew Matthew in their correct wording. When Gnostics couldn't understand Hebrew they replaced it with the closest Greek word they could think of, then the Coptic made it sillier. But in the Hebrew Matthew you can see how these sayings are teaching the Apostles the I am in the Father as the Father is in Me Dualism that doesn't agree with Christian Trinity that was added in the 16th Century to 1 John with 'Father Son and Holy Spirit' since this and Trinity are not found in the New Testament in Greek or anywhere in the Bible beyoind English additions. And if you know Greek, there WAS a word for trinity and variations as well, so the Catholic lies that the Greeks had no word for it....well, I'm not gonna teach....you'll believe by searching Greek language yourself. There's no Satan or Lucifer in the Old Tesament in any Hebrew text either. They are all Latin to English mistranslations that grew into Christian folklore then so called fact by 14th to 16th century. Search the chapter of Hebrew Isaiah thast telss the so called 'fall of Lucifer' It's not there. It's talking about how the King of Babylon was seen in a vision as falling from the throne as Baylon's god Ishtar/Venus dies as the last luminary Morning Star seen in the sky - still till this day in the Middle East, so this is not false. They translated the Hebrew word for luminary as the name Lucifer because no one was sure what the word meant. Much as in Job, there's no Satan. the word ha-satan is not a proper name, it just means a judge or one who puts people to tests. So Jesus saying 'Get behind me Satan' is merely name calling the spirit/demon as a shifty tester.
@ceedee8732 жыл бұрын
Very well said, apparently the word satan can also be translated into "adversary" some interesting stuff. The Lake of Fire in the book of Revelation is also a mistranslation, in Greek it's more like "guilders crucible" or something along those lines, the idea being that when the soul or entity passes through the Lake then all of it's impurities will be filtered out and the end result for the spirit is like gold, metaphorically speaking.
@BioFactory12 жыл бұрын
@@ceedee873 yes, ha-satan, like many Hebrew root words has three to five meanings but the point was, still to this day, it wasn't someone's name. As soon as I hear anyone in a church preach and get most these things constantly wrong it just irks me how Catholic dogma and poor English translations from other languages get such minor things wrong and those minor flaws create a bigger thing from them. If you study Babylonian history and myth, what gave Yahweh and Baal their great power is the mystery behind knowing their origins and why didn't anyone know? They were never even called their correct names even then. So the more we call spirits by wrong names we evoke power in those names for spirits to immitate what weencision then to be and they feed on playing those roles.

People lie to themselves more than thy realize unless you've seen hell like me. Heaven or what these hidden teachings reveal was sealed up because Egypt probably became corrupt. Just like now. This whole thing centers around enlightenment or nirvana or illumination or salvation. But its redemption through sin because you're born into it and are gonna sin anyways so you'll either seek to redeem yourself or die or suffer mentally. That's why Jesus is the way the truth the life. Live as him and God reveals himself to you through a epiphany hence the name epiphysis gland which is your Pineal gland. Pineal is father the son is heart and you're the holy spirit the serpent. It's like a sine wave (serpent) coiling around a zero point trying to reach unity gain. @@AFRoSHEENT3ARCMICHAEL69 No I'm not. If you can find the name of Lucifer in any actual original Hebrew book of Isaiah, which is the true original version before the bastardized flaws from Latin to Greek you'd be the only sick puppy to do so. There's no Lucifer in the old testament until the Latin mistranslations and Greek. That's not an insult, that's the difference between the real texts and flawed Christian translations getting elaborated on to cover up flaws instead of correcting them.

This is something which I might add, the emergence of "Gnosticism" also emerges among the Jewish matrix of early groups, not just of the supposed Greek or any Gentile Christian circles, this tendencies varies and the emergence among Jewish Christian matrix can even be analysed from Book of Baruch, Cerinthus (one of Gnostic groups which openly to uphold the entire Mosaic Law as necessary), Simon Magus, Simonians (which possibly developed separately from Simon Magus himself by introducing importance of number 6 of Genesis in it's Aeonology), Menander and Saturninus (although Saturninus) to even Serpentine Gnostics akin to Naassenes, Ophites and Perates which venerates Moses' Serpentine Miracles and takes almost Psychological and Physiological approaches of Exegesis of Old Testament 'books', even the supposed "Jewish Christians" akin to Nazarenes and Ebionites to the John The Baptist-oriented Mandaeans before they moved outside Jerusalem also has deep Esoteric Jewish rubrics to be close with Cerinthus and Justin's Book of Baruch in terms of viewing Old Testament Prophets and the early Jewish Christian Gnostics tend to view Jesus as human too and believes The Cosmos is formed through Triad of intersecting Creations (Father-Son-Tehom in Ophites and Perates Father-Elohim-Edem/Israel in Justin's Book of Baruch) God rest John D Turner in Peace, wherever and whenever he be, he at least doesn't need to experience the suffering which succeeds 2019

@@romb1818 "Therefore speak I unto them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand" (Matthew 13:13, KJV). What about it? The Lord Jesus Christ still didn't do anything secretly. The Pharisees, Sadducees and other pompous big-shots saw Him and heard Him; He was in full view of the public. "The common people heard him gladly" (Mark 12:37, KJV). Why? Because His parables were easy to understand, if you were one of the "deplorables." Those people had to deal with farmers, fishermen, carpenters, accountants and other common people. But the Pharisees were very much like modern Progressives: They bragged about their "education," and sneered at the Lord Jesus Christ. "How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?" Religiosity Plus, regarding Gospel of Thomas Logion 10, @13.30: "Jesus said, 'I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes,'" is not so secret or hidden. You reference Luke, but fail to note that in Luke 12:49, we find nearly the same quote: "I have come to cast fire upon the earth. How I wish it was already ablaze." (The Common English Bible trans.) While the Luke 12:49 quote is spoken in the passive voice, the Gospel of Thomas Logion 10 quote is in the active voice, thus more powerful. In Matthew 3:11, John the Baptist, paraphrased, points out that although he, John, baptizes with water, that another will come along, (Jesus) who will baptize with fire. "Fire" is a metaphor for Spirit or Holy Spirit, the Divine Spark within. All those religious icons of Jesus pulling his garment aside to reveal his flaming heart are illustrations that Jesus' goal was and is to wake up or activate the Divine Spark, the Holy Spirit, the God within, that lies in the heart center of every human on the planet. What Jesus accomplished in his lifetime-awakening the Divine Spark, the God within, thus becoming One with God, the Father, or Source, "The Father and I are One," John 10:30-makes him the exemplar for all of us, and tells us that this is something that we can all accomplish. If he were teaching us something beyond our ability, what would be the point of his incarnation? For insight and explication on Logion 11, read Jean-Yves LeLoup's translation and commentary on The Gospel of Thomas. Logion 11 is not so weird as it sounds in the specific translation you cited. It speaks of our chosen and metaphorical separation from Source or the One, the Father of all that is. But that is a whole other teaching-although still related to the dormant Divine Spark. Jesus is teaching union or more specifically re-union with God, the One, the Father, the Source of all that is. Translations are important. There are several different translations of the Gospel of Thomas, for example. A good translation sparks insight and illuminates; a lesser one obscures and confounds.

Hello - The Pistis Sophia is a Gnostic scripture which ante-dates the Book of Revelation of St John. In it, Jesus instructs His Disciples, among them the two Marys. Most are Initiates. Jesus and Mary Magdalene incarnated from the eighth dimension and were already very highly evolved. St Paul too, was a high Initiate. Many of the Teachings were therefore for the ears of these select few only. However, the essence of the Mount of Olives teachings are encapsulated in this text, which, it must be borne in mind, has to be read in the context of the World View of the time - not a simple task. Blessings - RevDrD

Just Christian will do. It is more then enough. What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand. God created us according to His own image and likeness. Godly. Mankind/the first Adam fell. The image of God in man got lost. That's why there is all this predicament on earth (selfishness, greed, lust, wars, sicknesses, death, etc). We are all born into that mess. For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ. With His own once and for all perefect sacrifice, He paid the debt for the fall of man for us, so we can be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. An amazing act of grace and love by our creator. That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all and walked in unselfish love. And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding, power and transform us back to origin. Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come. So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand. Hence the divine healing miracles we experience. God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after in Gen 1. The image we lost in the fall of man. The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us. What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing. It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle. He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love. Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh. For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth. He said: "Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc. I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name". Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!! So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit. You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator. You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace. A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam. Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever. Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote: "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again". "IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)" "The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power". So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing! In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote: "By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man". The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!! Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness. He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind". "I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

@@jesusdeity2010 if humans were in fact made in the image and likeness of God, could it be possible that God also mistakes too? Perhaps that is why he so readily offers a way to redemption as opposed to starting over with a new couple to test? Just thoughts that rattle around in my head.

Poor in so many ways- Thomas is not a gnostic document but was found with others which might be gnostic. The reader pronouncing Lyons as Lions sums it up
@ReligiosityPlus7 ай бұрын
First of all, Thomas is gnostic in many of its sayings. Just read saying 1 from the gospel of Thomas and see that the whole gospel is based off of special revealed knowledge. Secondly, a mispronunciation of a word is hardly worth criticizing the factual information in a video. I studied under one of the greatest Gnostic scholars of our generation (John D. Turner). Might be well worth reconsidering your statements.
@stephenargent40107 ай бұрын
And perhaps you could consider the works and opinions on of Elaine Pagels. The mispronunciation of Lyons is significant only in it reveals a very narrow attitude to research .

ATTRIDGE - Oxyrhynchus (1) And he said, "[Whoever finds the interpretation] of these sayings will not experience [death]." This is saying 1 and cannot be interpreted as exclusively gnostic
@ReligiosityPlus7 ай бұрын
I’ve read Elaine Pagels. She is a great scholar and I agree with much of her work. However, the gospel of Thomas clearly has sayings that represent knowledge as the basis of salvation. If that’s not gnostic, what is?

Oh you mean just like what Nicene Christianity does by appropriating Judaism and Greco-Roman paganism to downright adding those terminologies akin to hades, Styx, etc? If anything the original teachings of Jesus has the mixes of Mosaic Law, Gnostic and some but not all of Proto-Nicene teachings mingled into something else And attempts akin to Gospel of Marcion, Diatessaron, etc was the first codifying of a single Gospel to downright harmony of the four Gospels was done by these quasi-Gnostic individuals and groups that abides more of Baptist of Mandaean-like convents based of John The Baptist's teachings, Mosaic Law fulfilment for the Israelites while believing within Messianic Prophet of Jesus (whether as a generated Aeon or Human instead of Nicene ideas of being literal God or Son of God with their miaphysitism, diaphysitism and other Nicene Church(es) mental gymnastics), which succeeded by Islam to fulfil their Prophecies while absorbing the folds to conversions to Islam This is why Islam has flexible interactions with other religious groups and became the fastest growing Religion around The Globe even within the recent Modern and Post-Modern eras, all while Nicene Christianity is dwindling
