The social experiment theory is the only one that really makes sense in the context of the films

How come, can you elaborate?

I think a shared simulation or afterlife type situation could work too.

@@hichaelhyers I will begin this with the disclaimer that I was incredibly disappointed after watching The Platform 2, because I loved The Platform and felt it undercut pretty much the entirety of the first movie. Puragtory/overcoming trauma: this theory is interesting and makes sense in the context of The Platform 2, but less in the original. The biggest issue I have with this theory is choice. Most of the characters came into the Platform willingly. Both films also imply towards the end that their protagonist has died somewhat recently, which would suggest they've died twice? Betting game: Ultimately my opposition to this is just that I think sponsoring prisoners would be kind of boring. You sponsor a prisoner who excites you by their determination to survive when they're on a lower level, so they get put on a higher level, and then... What? Watch them eat and nap for a month? That being said, it would fit in well with the overall critique of systems of control, so it's not impossible. Aliens: The films clearly illustrate that there's a somewhat normal society outside of the platform. Human science has known how to simulate zero gravity for decades. I'm out on this one. There's a kind of dichotomy that exists in the first film wherein there's an expectation that there would be enough food to sustain everyone if they only ate what they needed. I think it's fairly evident within the movie that this isn't true, and suggests that it doesn't matter how you work within the system if the system is inherently unfair, with Imoguiri acting as the embodiment of this idea. Goreng also suggest that the Platform acts as a method of research for shutting down revolution, which makes the most sense to me.

5:10 i really dont think the corpses got thrown outa space After all they showed us it happened on floor 333 so they got thrown into the very last floor Which is the biggest mystery in my opinion Seemed like there are a lot of people there who only can survive if they.... you now feast on the remaining bodys And the Alien theory crumbles cause we see humans work up there Atleast the cooks or the interviewer woman

It looks like some form of execution rather then a social experiment. Also some things represented in a movie are clear plotholes. Strating with the fact that it is quite challenging to even survive eating for 2 minutes per day. Recovering from a month of starvation with the same time to eat would be imposible. Eating just 1 dish per day also not a thing that could keep a person alive. It would also bring a severe malnutrition because most of those dishes are not a balanced food. It would be more realistic to see people going down from top flors every day just to have some time to eat driven crazy from starvation. Having nothing to do for monthes is another thing that would make people insane.

Something worth nothing was the interviewer in the first movie who offed herself when she realized how many levels there were. It seems there might be some deception about what's going on..
