It is symbolic. They are walking away from Jerusalem (from God). They do not believe in resurrected Jesus, their heads are down and it shows where we are today without the importance of the third day. Jesus is crucified, hope is lost. Then! Jesus comes! They are not named as we put ourselves in the places of these men, walking away from God, society today. Then the greatest thing ever has happened. He has risen!

They don’t recognize him because it is not Jesus the man. Christ has been revealed to a different body/man. It is when Christ breaks bread (not the food), do they recognize him. It would be like if you recognized the specific way a person talked which was so different from anyone and then recognizing ilthat voice in another body form.

It is the breaking of the bread and this is how we will recognize him. He was and IS the manna from Heaven as mentioned in the Old and new testament.

Because it shows. Displays that we are not walking with God, God is walking with us is the revelation in Emmaus. Like when Jesus says, you did not choose me, I Chose you. Please Read Luke 24 and try to attend the Emmaus Retreat. For men and for Women. Smitty Dawson

???? WHY DID JESUS APPEAR ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS IN STEAD OF JERUSALEM??? IS THERE ANY PLACE IN THE OLD TESTMENT POINTING TO THIS PLACE AS SOMETHING HE WOULD FULL FILL THIS WAS OUTSIDE OF JERUSALEM ?
