Can you tell me what you thought it was before you heard this video,?Some people have paranoid schizophrenia and it's far worse and they live in a world of total fear and hide away with their blinds down and hide under their bed covers because their brain terrifies them,they stay away from others and it's very rare for them to commit violent crime,99% will hurt or kill themselves than ever want to get another person,they have an unusual closeness with animals and animals seem to be very drawn to these people.

I'm a homeless veteran and if you'd like to further pursue this idea, i will travel to you and help. I'll be available. I got you. I've heard noises and my dog never flinched. @@Bdkdklllvv retired veterinarian here, never heard of it, but brain tumours can cause behaviours that are completely out of character, also heavy metal poisoning, parasites, toxaemia, end stage liver disease, that appear delusional, as they do in people. As with people it's good to rule out diseases first. Once I thought a dog was acting possessed, which it had been for 4 years, no other signs. We saw it trying to pull its leg off. We tried pain killers and it fixed it.

My younger cousin was diagnosed with schizophrenia a few years ago. She had just married her high school sweetheart and had a baby. Within a year of her wedding, her husband had divorced her and took her baby daughter to the other side of the country. Even my aunt and her 2 sisters abandoned her. I’ve been trying to help her stay on her feet, but I was also in my 20’s when this first came about and I had no idea about schizophrenia or how to help her. Anyway, I really appreciate these videos, because it’s given me further insight into what my cousin may be experiencing, since she can’t really verbalize it

For most people with mental health issues, communicating it is something you learn with time (I have bipolar disorder, ADHD, and PTSD), and I'm so glad you have stayed, since these illnesses do kill people, and isolation is not good ❤️ I hope your sister finds the help that she needs ❤️ also, remember that you can help get her help (or at least try to), but it's not your job to save her ❤️ that's something only she can do, and carrying that weight can break anyone, so don't put that on yourself, and can also contribute to the person not getting the help they need ❤️ I wish you both the best❤️

For anyone who doesn't know (I didn't a while ago): Positive symptoms are things that you have and negative symptoms are things that you don't have or that you have less compared to other people. It has nothing to do with the symptoms being good or bad.
@MsDunkin123
@MsDunkin123 Жыл бұрын
Not quite: positive symptoms reflect an excess or distortion of normal function (eg, delusions, hallucinations, disorganized behavior), negative symptoms refer to a diminution or absence of normal behaviors related to motivation and interest (eg, avolition, anhedonia, asociality) or expression (eg, blunted affect, alogia).

In school, I learned about two types of symptoms associated with schizophrenia conditions: positive symptoms and negative symptoms. Positive symptoms are characterized by the presence of something extra, such as hallucinations. On the other hand, negative symptoms involve the absence or reduction of certain abilities or traits, like blunt affect, which affects facial expressions.

My best friend/little brother has paranoid schizophrenia and was diagnosed a few years ago. It’s such a misunderstood thing. People always assume someone with schizophrenia is a psychopath or a dangerous criminal, when in reality he’s one of the smartest, most sweetest kids I know. Even I look up to him sometimes. I think people need to learn to be more open minded and hear other people’s stories before judging. Sure, sometimes when he tells me his delusions or his paranoia thoughts they worry me, but that doesn’t mean he’s harmful and that goes for everyone. Never make someone feel bad for their struggles.

Thank you for presenting this as an illness instead of people afflicted being called crazy, as if it's their fault or it's a crime or character defect. With treatment, in this video you come across as a very intelligent, articulate normal human being and then you have episodes just like someone who has seizures or unmanaged diabetes. People taking their meds is a huge problem, especially for the homeless. Remember that your spirit and your higher self and whatever you consider a higher power is greater than anything biochemically or organically that is going on in your body or brain! My brother is schizophrenic and when he was first diagnosed and really showing his symptoms it was like I lost him. He’d forget we’d literally just spoken while he’s stood in front of me seconds after the conversation. It took a while, some impatient help and two types of anti psychotics and I have him back. He’s consistent and his lovely self again. When he first was hospitalised when he’d call we wouldn’t know what mood he’d be in or how the conversation would go. I’d be tag teaming with my mum quickly informing each other of his temperament. Sending love to you and yours He’s having some lul affects from his meds not feeling quite right. Currently lost motivation to get up and work out etc. Hope I can get him going again because he really thrives and loves moving and exercising We were made to feel almost scared of him when first supporting him but we just stuck with him and rode his symptoms. @hopewillfindaway9062 I don't think this is very helpful. I do believe it can happen. But even Jesus himself said some require prayer and fasting. It's not always so black and white. On the other hand, I do believe some things are due to genetic issues. Things out of our control. In this case, it is like Paul who said he must bear the "thorn in his side". Many speculate it was a speech problem. Whatever it was God did not heal him of it. But through Paul's weakness God made him stronger to deal with it. So no, this isn't cut and dry. For instance when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis months after giving birth to my first child, God told me healed me through this illness. I knew instantly he meant issues in my heart and life. Since that day God has never let me down and carried me through every dark day. So no, not everything is demonic and not belief alone cannot purge such things.

@@hopewillfindaway9062 I am a pentecostal so I can appreciate what you are saying. But for those who do not believe, God has shown his mercy and grace through medical professionals. Unfortunately, this could be more problematic for some individuals who are already struggling to get a grip on their mental health. I understand you, I really do. God healed me from depression, anxiety, epilepsy, suicidal tendencies, hearing voices, and much more! Unfortunately for my daughter, she is not a believer. So I pray that God guides her doctors. I get that you mean well, but there is a time for everything. It is simply not her season.

I agree, my aunt has schizophrenia and she was telling us that the birds had cameras on themselves to film her and spy on her. She told us that someone comes into her room from the window and sprays poison around to poison her. And she claims that my uncle poisoned her water. It always happened when she didnt take her medicine. She thinks she doesn't need the medicine and that the doctor wants to poison her aswell. I cant count how many cases happened, thats the reason why everyone in my family distanced themselves from her for safety. I actually had another aunt with schizophrenia, but unfortunately she died after she threw herself from the window. My family suspects that this disease runs in our family. All this happened after her husband cheated on her. That was a small trigger that caused her trauma and schizophrenia. We tried to help but she didnt want to, she didnt trust us.

I had a male midddle aged neighbour who had schizophrenia, but it was out of control, as he'd stopped medication and was drinking. He'd have voices telling him to do things (e.g. smash the windows with a hammer), he believed that I had broken into his apartment, and basically stalked me, waiting for me outside my apartment, watching my windows, or ringing my doorbell in the middle of the night. I have him on tape saying that he'll never leave me alone. I felt really scared, and there was basically nothing I could do - I really felt left alone. At some point he almost kicked in my door and the emergency line refused to come help me. I get that schizophrenia is terrible for those affected, but I also feel there should be more in place to protect people against people with schizophrenia whose condition gets out of control. The issue with my neighbour was always that he couldn't be forced to be medicated or under surveillance or assistance as long as he hadn't actually attacked someone. But I sure wish there was more understanding for people in my situation

As someone who read the chemical names of medications and thought that because of certain parts of the terms that they were poisonous and could kill me, I turned around, and this took so much effort, and said, “then I turn the poison into medicine,” an idea I got from studying Derrida, Plato, and Socrates, and I believe a perfect capitulation of the more positive attributes of mental illness.
