I think the biggest conflict for training moving forward will be limiting screentime and not trying to find the perfect workout plan/set up/etc but just doing it. Good luck for everyone 2025.

Learning Karate has always been a struggle for me, since I don't have any natural talent for it. It taught me the importance of consistency and giving my best efforts. During the years. I saw several times gifted people quitting. Instead, the hard worker Karateka are still active.

I have no natural talent for anything. Especially martial arts. It took me 5 years to get my black belt in tomiki aikido and for other people who put in the same effort they would have got their black belt in two years. Thank you. I feel less bad about myself now.

I'm the same, and one thing that people like you and me have that they don't is a thorough understanding of the biomechanics behind the techniques because we take 3 times as long as a naturally talented person to do the same thing. They do it instinctively, and as a result, they often don't understand the "why" in addition of the "how" of why the techniques work. People like you and me can teach the techniques far more effectively than someone that masters it instinctively, because the repetition is ingrained in us.

I always told my students to just train and have "FUN" with capital letters. That's all you have to do. Train and have fun doing it, everything else just falls into place after it.

Every person on the planet has something in their soul that makes them do their best, What makes you fight? what makes me fight is love and I love Karate, Karate was what connected me with my Father the first memory I have of him is when my Daddy teach me Kata and the elegance, nobility, philosophy, respect and self control of Karate-DO conquered my soul I see this art as a member of my family and I always will be a Karate Idiot(reference as Oyama-Sensei) use the GI of Karate and train this beautiful art made me heart beat more fast that's the art I love look I respect every style on planet but I follow the Karate path it's my favorite style until the end of my life that's my humble opnion of what Karate means to me.

My advice to less talented students is just show up. If you focus on the basics concentrated on details, then in 5 -6 years you will start to develop and begin to understand muscle memory of propper body mechanic. Then your katas will start to really make sense and your speed and power will just happen. I think this is the wisdom of some of the old world sensi. Genuine appreciation for hard training comes with this too. Kind of a tortoise and the hare thing. Remember practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. NOTE: reader beware...this "advice" took me 25+ years to figure out, I'm a slow learner and in my estimation I still pretty much suc. I still have a long way to go!

@KarateBreakdown nice! Made me think of Akuma. I've got a picture of Vegeta in my woodshed, even though he'll never be Goku he trains as hard as he can regardless.
