I was THRILLED to speak with Maddy today! I'm in NJ and I have my lab order ready to go, and look forward to becoming one of your patients, all the way from New Jersey. Yes I fell for the pellet scam and now I'm left swinging in the wind. Thank you for what you do!

Getting doctors to order bloodwork is the reason that my hormones are still whack after 4 years on HRT. The med spa that I initially used was FANTASTIC for quarterly bloodwork. Doctors just don’t want to do it or they do and it’s all wrong or incomplete. I finally started ordering my own from Ulta labs and have taken control of my own damned health.

Thank you for this information, for your knowledge, for your focus on hormones, for not being archaic, for your honesty, for your book, and for being licensed in NJ. Mina is so nice and helpful. I had my blood work yesterday and I’m looking forward to our first visit, and getting on HRT. 😊

Could you make a video about what are the optimal levels of those sex hormones? What are we aiming for? Should we check estrogen too or only estradiol?

Just recd your book !!! Thank you 😊

I've heard that the blood test may not accurately reflect a build-up of estrogen in the tissues, so that was an argument for saliva testing. What are your thoughts on this idea? Thanks.

A question about timing and testing when one is already on Armour Thyroid. I’ve got my lab requisitions and I’ll be booking with you as soon as I get the results. I aim to get my blood draw in the morning. The requisition says to take my hormones 2 hours before the test but I want to know your thoughts especially when it comes to thyroid and blood testing. 2 hours before? Won’t that make it look like I’m puffed to the gills with loads of thyroid?

Dr Shawn, can you speak about the difference in blood tests required if you’re using rectal Prometrium vs oral ?

This is a question for subscribers - Are you able to click the bell for updates? When I try to do that, it's "disabled", is this happening to others?

I've heard you say you like Lowest dose of hormones that works. What dose of each of the 3 hormones would you start a healthy, fit woman who just entered menopause? And how long you would wait to change it if she says there is no relief from the hot flashes? E2patch, oral P, compounded T. Trying to compare my current prescription with what you would do.

My pellet had 500 times more estrogen than normal….i began bleeding 9 days twice a month,so I was bleeding 18 days a month. Gynecologist did biopsy of uterus/cervix thinking I had cancer…..thank God I didn’t. Pharmacist put me on progesterone cream in daytime & pills at night. Bleeding stopped & never bled again❣️

Yesterday I was listening to you and you mentioned that estradiol increased dementia. Then, later you said it decreased dementia. I was just wondering, which one it is supposed to be?

In the study it decreased dementia

I have an appointment tomorrow and I’m gonna tell her about the labs I want, I have one lab done recently of my estradiol. It was 142 and I’m perimenopause. What should I ask for?( apparently the lining in my uterus thick I’m 53.) 1 polyp, one doctor says get a hysterectomy. The other just says take hormones. I need your help and advice.

Darn - not in NY yet :(. I get my care from the VA and they are SHIT at women's health. They would be willing to order tests but then ignore them lol, So glad I did not do the pellets even though I really want to get my hormones fixed - it never felt right to not be able to adjust the levels.
@denisemaples65198 ай бұрын
I am a veteran. Also tell the VA you want community care because you want a second opinion outside they will do it. That’s what I did a civilian doctor get much better care

Decreases. A lot of other doctors said so

@puffchickpam1 I read elsewhere that it increases if you are already over 60.
