As for Emillia's fate, the showrunners confirmed that Fun Gus took the form of Emillia's brother, psychologically torturing her forever (because Emillia still had guilt for killing her brother, represented by the nature of its mega). Otherwise Rad Sechrist (one of the showrunners and creator of the original webcomic) posted his idea for "Wolf Movie" with a lot of visuals and even an animatic of the first minutes.

Two fun facts When Emilia was sinking, it was originally supposed to be her brother dragging her below the water, but it was deemed too creepy. There was supposed to be a scene where Fun Gus sees a picture in Emilia's apartment of her and her brother hanging out, and in order to bond with his new forever friend, would decide to shapeshift to look like her brother as he terrorized, I mean, played with her. It was deemed too dark.

I love how Emilia's punishment is ironically fitting for her character. She's an unrepentant bigot against mutes. She would love nothing more than to wipe them out. So what's the worst thing you could do to her in her eyes? Trap her with a mute that she can't hurt and that unrelentingly wants to "be friends" with her. (Though, Fun Gus' method of being friends isn't the healthiest around.) It's a double win. Fun Gus gets a new friend so he isn't lonely and Emilia gets trapped in her own personal version of hell!

When She-Ra ended, I needed Netflix or Dreamworks to give me something else, and when I started Kipo one summer and realized Karen Fukuhara (Glimmer’s VA) was voicing the title character, I thought to myself “I might be in luck.” And I was! Again, beautiful artstyle, animation, characters, and THE MUSIC!!! Hugo’s death caught me way off guard when the finale dropped, enough to where i really found him a good family of the Oak family 😢 Also, RIP Yumyan (if it’s a way of showing the consequences of the cure as a reason of not finding a reverse solution, fine, but still…)

The two were very different types of sacrifice and I think both were handled with the correct approach for the character sacrificing themself. Shadow weaver was a manipulative character all around, but I still feel a very large amount of pain at her sacrifice because it was well written. It made sense, and redemption was not going to be easy or done well with her, but the sacrifice was. Hugo on the other hand was built to be heartbreaking, and his story holds more emotional meaning. His sacrifice was heartbreaking because the main characters loved him, and so did we. Shadow weaver was not loved by the main characters in quite the same way. They were attached to her as an abusive mother figure, so the sadness is a very different story. TLDR both sacrifices were well written to match the character being sacrificed

Emilia likely didn't have time to develop a cure that would work on Kipo. It took a lot of work just to make the one she already has and it was in large part thanks to Leo and Song's notes, as well as Kipo's DNA. What she used to turn herself into a mega mute was likely a byproduct of their research on the cure. I can understand not being able to restore the mutes to their humanoid form. Even if they could it is possible they would have lost most of their memories, the animal brain not being able to handle it. It's another story with the mega mutes, as their brains have got to be massive, so it is easy for a human mind to get lost in it.

Watching Hugos' death still hurts all these years later, but the fact that a statue was made in his honor was so beautiful! Watching your reactions to this series has been lovely, a great journey, and seeing the end was bittersweet! All the older designs for the kids are so fitting and awesome! I also love that you brought back your Mandu plush to make it full circle.

I think it fit really well that those that were lost (de-muted) stayed gone. Just like Scarlemagne didn't turn back to Hugo on a dime. It's reflective of reality. Yumyan and the others were lost in the war and to have a fix-it-all solution would've taken away from their sacrifice. This show did such a GOOD JOB!!

I like that Kipo has real stakes - the consequences, even bad ones, are REAL. A more mature story, because I think the audience can handle that sometimes bad things happen, and you can work through it, but you can't fix everything.

One of my reasons for believing so is Hugo's character growth and transition to the side of good was far better-written and more satisfying to watch than Catra's Tenable candidate for best cartoon redemption arc since Zuko, I'd say

I love how we all hated Scarlemagne when he was first introduced and mourned for him (as Hugo) when he died. Had you told me that he'd die when I first saw him, I'd have celebrated it. But by the time you get to the ending, it's sad. It's a master class in villain redemption arcs. It wasn't quick. There were false starts and backsliding, but Hugo was redeemed and died a hero!
