My first time playing bo1 zombies is a nostalgic statement of memory in my 21 years of living. I remember being an 8 year old kid playing kino and dying on round 1 just because of how terrifying the ambiance and scenery was. All I felt was fear and bo1 really knew how to make you feel like you were actually in the game

What made it creepy was how slow it was. You couldn't slide around like crazy, or do weird moves to get around, the characters didn't have bubbly personalities but rather more realistic ones, the zombies were stylized as creepy instead of atherial and the stakes were higher. Not to mention it actually felt like an outbreak happened instead of just some weird shit.

My favorite BO1 zombies memory was when I was like 10 or 11 years old, it one of my first times playing and didn't know zombies could still attack with their heads blown off, and the first time it happened I said out loud "what the fuck?!" and immediately paused then slowly turned around in my chair cause I wasn't supposed to swear but thankfully no one was there 😂

Love how calmly Castro stands up once they see the zombies while everyone else shoots up out of their seats. Absolutely loved this video. It brought me back to the days of playing this with my brother, and failing to do solo runs past round ten. Black Ops 1 will always he one of the GOATs in my mind. Keep up the good work!

I remember when I used to play Ascension map..everybody wanted high rounds..they do that glitch by the stairs and they be on top of the screen and the zombies be a big pile up. Just watching the zombies running to the area where the other player be at. Miss the PhD perk aka The Dolphin Dive ✌️

I think it’s something about the PS3/Xbox 360 graphics that made it scary for me, it might be a bit controversial but I am of the opinion that inferior graphics makes the atmosphere so much scarier Compare the original maps to their zombies chronicles remasters. In zombies chronicles, there is a lot more light and saturation which would not be possible on the old gen, take Ascension for example, the original map is a bit foggy if I remember correctly but the remaster isn’t which in a way takes out some of the horror elements. Same with moon, and while I absolutely love the remastered moon, the ambiance from bo1 isn’t there anymore and it looks a lot cleaner and more “inviting” which isn’t very fitting if you want to make the map scary

Just a tip, never complain about a video being too long. They only work to your advantage giving you more watch time and revenue as well as keeping the audience happy that you went in depth with things. Don’t rush and drop a cyberpun 2077. Be patient and always attempt to put out a complete product that both you and the viewers will be happy with. If people are already 80 minutes into a video another 30 won’t hurt. They’re here for this long because they’re interested in what you have created. There’s a reason you can upload 24hr videos on this platform now and deep dive icebergs and retrospectives do so well

Yeah play this in VR and it is ten times more creepy. I played almost all the OG BO1 and WAW zombies maps in contractors VR and it's terrifying since it feels like you're actually there in verruct, Nacht, kino, and hell even in the town which was recently added into contractors and it's actually scary. Just being in those locations alone just scares me especially since you're now going face to face with the zombies now and have to physically reload the guns yourself and it's harder since you can mess up the reloads and basically lose a clip of ammo that you can't get back if you drop it.

I enjoy this video but In my opinion I feel as if the video kind of died down in quality a little bit. In the beginning i was super interested as you talked about not only the lore of the map but also the aesthetics and small details. It felt like you were explaining what made the maps so terrifying! But as it went on it felt less like that and more like just a lore dump video. I wanted to see more analysis of the maps and less of the lore stuff. Felt like padding to me. Props for even getting this done though this had to NOT be easy. Gave it a like.

My first time playing zombies I was like 11yrs old staying the night at my dads. I was in the basement playing black ops and when I beat the game it took me to zombies. I was lowkey terrified when I first played because I was down in that dark basement trying my hardest to stay alive against the waves of zombies that were coming at me faster and faster. I was wondering when the mission would end but I didn't realize till after playing a couple times that it's no mission, but one of the most popular video game modes in gaming history. So glad I was there to experience it, and even more thankful I got to play it the first time as a kid

Back when the OG moon map pack was about to release, lil past 12am for me. I remember US zombies fans lingering in the comment section of the Moon map trailer on KZbin. We’d comment on each other’s comments refreshing so we could communicate and exchange gamer tags. It was wholesome af! Another experience I’d like to share was in BF3 online it must’ve been new years 2012. My squad (composed of randoms) played a couple matches then the clock hit 12am we all sent each other happy new years messages then we won the match.

PHD never came back as a perk in BO2 because it was hilariously busted in BO1. In fact, one of the most infamous treyarch trolls was putting a PHD machine in an out of reach hallway on Die Rise, a map where the park would be insanely useful since it negates fall damage in addition to splash damage.

Ascension is my favourite map. I like how there's multiple training location and Flopper is so fun to use. I agree, monkeys are so annoying, part of the reason why I prefer playing the map with friends. It'd be annoying defending perks by yourself. At least with friends, we can defend more perks

As a kid, I didn't feel creeped out completely, but it really set a cool but scary tone, but I could still enjoy it. The sound of iron lung (or some medical machine, idk) in the background with the Zombies main theme and the whole idea of an experiment gone wrong added to the atmosphere. It's hard to explain but whoever envisioned this was a true artist and I wish I knew who the lead designer for BO1 Zombies was I guess.
