18 years ago, I was working at a a mexican restaurant. The general manager was a stone-cold 50 year old fox. She was eating her dinner one night when I asked her why it was just meat and vegetables. She said she had type-2 diabetes. I, not knowing anything, said "Well why not just take insulin?" She said she used to take insulin but it just made her sick and the insulin was only to allow her to eat carbs and sugar. So she reasoned if she didn't eat carbs or sugar, she just didn't need insulin. She said she hadn't taken insulin for years and she looked AMAZING! Every time I follow her advice, I lose weight easily and feel immediately better.

Definitely, anecdotes don't really work when assessing "general nutrition guidelines". As he said himself, his mother can't process beta carotene as much as the average person. Obviously one man's bowel pain cure won't have the same effect on another person. Paul Mason also made pretty bold claims in the interview, the video could've used more references to studies in order to back him up, as I found myself googling most of his claims to verify if they were really true.

I follow a network of like minded physicians on Twitter and when this case was shared it was noteworthy simply because the patient's regular doc saw for how the patient's test results showed a complete reversal of serious diseases. Yet the recommendation was to go back to eating carbohydrates. There is accumulating evidence that a strict carnivore diet is consistently able to put several autoimmune diseases in full remission, and strongly mitigate the symptoms of other types of autoimmunity. Check out the work of a medical group out of Hungary (Paleomedicina, they may have a new name) using their Paleo Ketogenic Diet (clinical carnivore & paleo extension) to put autoimmune diseases in remission. They meticulously test patients for gut permeability. Dr. Sophia Clemens has been interviewed as their spokesperson.

The point is - if you cherrypick the countries you can show anything you want. You can't just take 22 countries, and then say - well only 7 of them shows what I wan't so I just discard the rest. Have a look at 7 and 8. 7 is finland, Only USA die more than them. Then look at France, they are down at the very bottom, not the least, but certainly close. yet they are almost same place on the X axis. When you have this big a spread, there is no way you can go and conclude like Ancel keys did that its fat consumption. He knew that, and that is why he threw away more than half the results, and pretended like they never existed. Norway and USA eat same fat, but USA has 3 times as many deaths? There has to be something else at play here. And if you want a little pointer to why there still is some relation to a slightly higher death for more fat intake, its because carbohydrates combined with fat is even worse than just carbohydrates alone.

From what I've been researching, the all meat diet would use a different gut flora. Ones that live in the colon. Giving the upper intestinal gut flora a break/reset. Which might help with gut problems and autoimmune system problems as well. There is no long term research on the all meat diet, so who knows if it's the better diet. There is a risk I can see. The gut flora in the colon are swimmers. Which means if they are plentiful, then they might swim up the intestine and cause SIBO. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. My "theory" is the meat diet might be a gut reset option. I think fasting can do the same thing and provide the body with repair time without "that" risk.

There seems to be an agenda to get fiber out of the diet, like the egg at one time. Fiber is the medium which sugar uses to go through the body normally. if you eat any carb or sugar without fiber, it will turn to ethanol in the system, which is poison for the Liver. With fiber, it is estimated that your liver gets about %20 of the ethanol, from the food broken down and sent to the liver; however, if you do not have fiber ~%70-%90 of the ethanol is sent to the liver. This causes fatty liver disease and insulin resistance as the pancreas is warn out from the high glycemic response because there was no fiber to slow down the digestion of the sugar, those conditions cause inflammation in and people need more fiber if they are eating carbs or sugars to avoid this. so you can eat a keto diet and avoid fiber; however, if you are eating sugar, you should get fiber before or during when you eat sugar/carbs.

The way things appear in nature may be the intended way we are supposed to eat. Grains of any kind are relatively hard to find, and once you find them, they must be processed to get the hull off. It was farming that brought grains into being a primary food source. Vegetables in the wild are plentiful, from edible leaves on trees, wild greens and edible roots and tubers, plus herbs. Fruits are also plentiful in the wild, from crab apples to berries to paw paws to stone fruits. Nuts are plentiful also in certain seasons. So out of all of this, it seems grains are the least that the wild has to offer. Maybe we should take a hint from that. It is likely also that wild horses and pigs did not eat corn and oats all day like they do now, because that is not how it grows in nature. They probably ate a variety of what they could find, with grasses, fruits and vegetables most likely the majority of their diets. In the winter, wild animals will dig for roots or eat the bark off of trees. Or they will eat other living things if they can catch them.

With regards to plants and fiber/nutrients. This is why fermented foods were a much bigger part of diets in more traditional cultures. Great for your gut of course but it also broke down fibers, oxalates, etc. and unlocked nutrients and increased their absorption. With regards to fiber. I would argue ii is healthy for you, if your gut microbiome is healthy. If not, then I can easily see why too much fiber intake would be an issue. Also, it would probably be wise to explore the capacity of fibers/pectins to absorb toxins and heavy metals. Strawberry fibers bind very well with mercury, for instance.

The correct thing to do is to do occasional fasts to clear out excess fat and damaged parts of the proteome, and then resume a high-carbohydrate diet, which is what the body is physiologically built for, and which works without any problems once the body's ability to properly metabolize carbohydrates is no longer clogged up by all the excess fat.
