All should listen to and consider these messages, and if agreeable, then acting as these inspired men have suggested. Messages like these have been consistent over the 50+ years I have been listening to these men and others in the same position. It has been my experience that hearing and following such counsel has consistently yielded happiness and improved my life and that of my family.

Yes, thank you for your concern. I believe that it is a continual process, as well as an event (such as baptism). It means to me that through the Atonement, I have been able to repent and have the Spirit of the Lord with me. If I die tonight...well there are some other issues there but I have hope that after judgment I will. These are my answers. Thank you, He does.

As I listened to their answers, I discovered a consistent theme that I would summarize as follows: I have come to understand better the protection available through our temple covenants and what it means to make an acceptable offering of temple worship. There is a difference between church-attending, tithe-paying members who occasionally rush into the temple to go through a session and those members who faithfully and consistently worship in the temple.

Excellent questions. I believe they are true prophets because following their words has brought me closer to Heavenly Father, just as the words of Moses, Isaiah, Matthew, John, and Paul have done. The Spirit of the Lord, or Holy Ghost, is what confirms truth, so as we seek to know what is true, we have to do what brings the Spirit into our lives. Faith, obedience to God's will, and sincere prayer are ways to feel it. I know God answers prayers: He answered your same question for me. Ask Him!

Before daybreak, before this north Fulton County community is fully awake, 17 high school students gather to study the finer points of Scripture and thus build their faith. They sit barefoot in a circle of sofas and chairs in a spacious basement family room -- eager soldiers studying. Welcome to seminary everyone, says Brenda Yates, the woman of the house and class instructor, taking her seat.

"When we were on our mission we were looking for those people who were interested in hearing the gospel," he said, noting that he was focused on his Church assignment. But, in so doing, his wife also taught him to look into the hearts of the people. On one occasion, President and Sister Schwitzer came upon an elderly Russian woman. She used two canes to walk. President Schwitzer looked into the woman's weather-beaten face, which had deep wrinkles, and walked on by.

Starting with nothing, Robert began to create a new life for himself and his family. The first years were hard, but gradually things improved as he and his brother Archibald began to develop mills on Mill Creek and the Jordan River. A few years later he suffered a reversal of fortune. The water powering his mill was taken upstream, leaving his portion of the stream dry. An attempt to build a six-mile (10-km) canal to the mill failed.

No, I see no paradox. The leaders are trying to portray the church as something it is not, ie that it's a Christian church. Just like how LDS say joseph smith was just a man in explaining away the completely different versions of the first vision. This leader is also just a man, and although his words sound kind and inviting, people looking into joining the church need to learn the real doctrine.

This becomes even more important when you are surrounded daily with profanity, socially accepted immorality, immodesty, pornography, and other inappropriate material in the media, including television and the Internet, and widespread availability of drugs and alcohol. In a word, not a day goes by that we are not asked, in one form or another, "Who's on the Lord's side? Who?" I have two simple suggestions to help you prepare your answer to that question.

George shared three main points, beginning with the Catholic understanding of religious freedom, which he said is shared by Mormons and must be protected in order to maintain the public good. "It cannot be reduced to freedom of worship or even freedom of private conscience," George said. "It means that religious groups as individuals have a right to exercise their influence in the public square."

A "scarament" is a religious rite. Marriage is a religious ritual, not a civil one. Judges redefining marriage to include homosexuals, is judges using the law to interfere in religious beliefes, or a "sacrament". This is un-Constitutional and wrong. On the other hand President Monson is a religious leader, a Prophet. He has much more of a right to get into teh defense of a religious ritual form the force of politics than judge sdo to force change in it.

BigTallOx seems to indicate that different versions of JS's first vision negate and nullify it's validity, therefore making it and the church false. If so, then using his test, all the teachings of Christianity and the Christian church which are based on what Paul taught should also be negated and nullified since in the NT he (Paul) relates three different stories concerning his conversion. How does he handle that disparity? By their fruits...

I love the simple logic of a friend on this one. While Jesus is the Son of God in a narrower sense, He is also, of course, a Son of God in the broader sense, as the scriptures teach. Now in this broader sense we may say that angels, also, are children of God. Satan is a fallen angel, if you believe the testimony of Isaiah or John the Revelator. That Christ and Satan are brothers is not an important teaching, but a secondary conclusion, and a Biblical one. But Satan fell, Christ stayed with God.

Yes it does say to test anyone claiming to speak for God as a prophet. Joseph Smith failed on several occasions. The LDS gospel is not the same gospel of Christ. It is a works + worthiness = living with God instead of Gods Grace = salvation and to live with God. Members of the church praise Joseph Smith and his new gospel. The notion of Josephs new gospel must be repeated over and over again. example - I know the bofMormon is true..Is repetition brainwashing? YES!

I think you should look into the LDS church a bit more. If you are referring to hell when you say tortured, you should know that in LDS doctrine, children are all saved and that the majority of people will be saved. They only go to "hell" if they make the wrong choices after knowing the right ones. Now doesn't that seem better?
