I have just started putting together my instrument panel using pretty much the same package. This has been extremely helpful. I have most of your DVDs (CH750 Cruzer), They have all been very helpful. THANKS AGAIN!

Most helpful Dynon video out there. Great job.

Thank you for taking the time for all the videos! I can hardly wait to start my build in the near future.

Great video. Simple, clear, and helpful! Thanks! I’m hoping there’s a discussion video of what all you need to make a complete panel to be VFR and IFR ready with a TAA setup from a brand new install viewpoint (TAA is the future. Once you go there, you’ll never go back).

Would love to know about that big ALT-STATIC switch.....
@kr6dr
@kr6dr 2 жыл бұрын
It looks like a pneumatic switch to switch the static pressure from the static port to an alternate static pressure source, usually inside the cabin. Sometimes static ports get blocked by ice or debris, so an alternate is needed. The altimeter and airspeed are usually not as accurate on the alternate source due to the cabin pressure difference from outside pressure. It can vary considerably by opening vents, windows or cabin heat.

What is inside of the all the Box's. How and where do the box's hook up to
@TigercatDesign

The hookups are explained in the Dynon installation manuals. I suspect Jon is incorrect when he refers to the display panel as "mostly for display". Most likely the master processor and most of the control software is in that display box. The other boxes are mostly just sensor boxes tied in through the Dynon serial network (RS-232 or RS-422?). The EMS and AHRS boxes are the most interesting; probably some interesting circuitry in the former and some MEMS gryo hardware in the latter. I'd also like to know what processor Dynon is using--it's doing some serious real-time display processing. It appears one would have to remove that "Warranty Void if Removed" sticker covering one of the screws to find out :-)

Can you make a video showing a least expensive IFR capable panel? Just something that meets the requirements, not something fancy.

There needs to be diversity antenna system for the transponder to fly in Canada.

Your display image shows Percent Power and LOP/ROP indications (upper left corner of the display). But, Dynon has software mapping only for Continental and Lycoming engines. It does not work for the UL Power engines as installed in your demo plane! I can understand the LOP/ROP not working, as the UL Power engines are Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), and Multi-port fuel injected engines with no manual mixture control - the Engine Control Unit (ECU) does it for you automatically. It would be nice if Dynon would map the line of UL Power engines to show % Power, for use with electric variable pitch propellers.

20 years ago you couldn’t put in a 747 style glass cockpit in your home built. The components in this panel will likely be obsolete in 7 years.

Breaker panel status on glass display? I guess I'm to old school to like that idea.
