Tommy! This cracks me up beyond belief! My mother was blind since birth and I remember her wanting me to describe what I looked like on Halloween. I continue to browse your videos, went to Molly's channel, and am just surfing the content. Unfortunately, I lost my mother 2 years ago but all your videos are making me laugh, cry, and just rejoice in my mothers love for me. Man she had stories and we had them as well. I just started my own KZbin channel on gaming, mainly video games, and today I recalled a memory I haven't though about since i was a kid. I loved playing Nintendo, and I once taught her to play a few levels of Super Mario Brothers. I'd instruct, she's listen, and she picked up the sound that the game would make as she jumped and squished goombas. We played like that for hours. In fact, because we couldn't play regular board games or afford the blind version of Monopoly or Scrabble, she always encouraged me to play games and she loved the music. Your videos inspire me, your content urges me to grow my channel. Your doing great work! By the way, I am very jealous of your reel to reel. I am working through thousands of records, reel to reels, and tapes taking in all the music I used to listen to with my mom. Gob bless.

Hey Tommy! I just found your channel this week and I’ve already watched SO many videos! I love how much you’ve taught me already about life as a blind person. You’ve also taught me so much about appreciating life, which I really try to do, but I see you’ve been putting us all to shame in that department. You’re the most positive person I’ve ever seen! As a person with glasses, I wondered if that was hard for you to fully understand too. I watched your reflective, transparent, translucent video and you seemed to have a great idea of the difference, but I was surprised that Ben didn’t talk more about regular old eye glasses. They’ve always been really fascinating even to me who can see, glass configured in a way that makes my eyesight better. Anyway, I wish you all the best! I love your “dad” jokes!

Does a blind person find places like Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, and other similar experiences (haunted houses for example), frightening and/or scary?

Hello Tommy, I love watching your videos!! Halloween is my second favorite holiday and it is different when you are blind. I started to go blind at age 19 and I honestly don't get scare anymore!! LOL, seriously, I love the custums, the candy, but when I go to Knott's Scarry Farm I hear everyone running and screaming and to me is no big deal. I do have lots of fun hearing people running away from all those "scarry" monsters. Thanks for sharing your experience with us...

Trick or treating in my Grandparents' neighborhood, there was a blind woman who let the kids inside her house to get one of the huge frosted pumpkin shaped cookies she made, they were laid out on a huge table in her dining room. Some kids would try to grab more than one and she would yell, "Hey, only take one!" After a couple years of going trick or treating we realized she said that to everyone... or did she know somehow?

At 2:20 I can relate to that Tommy. When I was 6 I remember hearing about Halloween and getting free candy from the neighbours and stuff, and I was like cool I'm going to have a fun day tomorrow, and after we came home with my brothers my mom said "That's a lot of stuff HA HA , when do you plan on eating it all, and I said tomorrow when I don't have school. Then she said my worst fear "Kids still have school even after Halloween honey" Then I immediately started crying and threw my candy in the trash. FUN TIMES!

I'm a bit late but... What's your experience with mathematics as a blind person? Especially in higher level maths which traditionally heavily uses written symbols and shorthand notiom. Algebra would be a good early example of what I mean. I used to study physics and mathematics in college and I honestly cannot think of how I could even really manipulate lengthy equations without being able to see the formulas I am working with. Very curious. :)
