I believe this is the pedal I have been looking for. Been listening to Dawes, Nothing is Wrong, and Taylor Goldsmith has really grabbed me with how he subtly brought the VB-2 into the mix; without distracting the audience. The closest thing I have to a modulation pedal on my board is my Strymon Flint. I've been hunting for a phase/chorus/vibrato for years; but so many of them feel too situational or juxtapose. I look forward to testing one of these out in person; I have been tempted to grab a chorus pedal which includes a vibrato setting; but they don't seem to have that subtle/organic feel.

I’ve never really warmed up to vibrato, unless it’s very slow and shallow. I think I come from a time in the early 80 where you were trying so hard to have good audio fidelity in a world where that had become very doable, but still expensive. Being in tune and on tempo was a victory, even on a cassette tape. My access to poor tape recorders & mono FM radio on a small speaker make things like vibrato & crazy complex lo-fi pedals like Generation Loss seem peculiar. And then I read this quote by Brian Eno: "Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit - all of these will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided. It's the sound of failure: so much modern art is the sound of things going out of control, of a medium pushing to its limits and breaking apart. The distorted guitar sound is the sound of something too loud for the medium supposed to carry it. The blues singer with the cracked voice is the sound of an emotional cry too powerful for the throat that releases it. I'm really surprised the expression out and the rise control are focused on the depth and not the rate. You'd expect they allow either with an internal switch or something. I think control over the depth is interesting but I love the idea of having a rising rate or anything that gets you some of that ramping Leslie quality instead of just a fast lfo.

In my heart of hearts, it's because they're saving that for the Rotary Ensemble Compact Pedal Waza Edition, which uses lasers to project the virtual rotor spiny wheel up into the air above it. *fingers crossed*

From what I’ve heard, getting BBD chips working in tip top form is a challenge, and keeping them that way after capacitors and other components start to drift is another challenge. I’d be curious to know how well those were scoped before leaving the factory while they were available.

The behringer vibrato is great but doesn't have an expression jack or the new mode though I do wish you had a choice of rate or depth another great video

Yeah, I was kind of wondering if I'd rather have that second mode OR a switch to go between rate and depth for the expression jack. I think being able to fluidly control the rate would be good in some cases, but that might also just be me thinking about how much I love the RT-20 and all its capabilities.

Intro jam was ❤❤❤❤!! On Behringer pedals...Recently got their Tubescreamer clone and, comparing it with the Ibanez mini version, I'd say it was pretty much identical. However, when it comes to time based or modulation effects, more £ means better sound quality. IMHO of course. Excellent video once again.

That does seem to be the case. I don't think I've heard a cleaner, more beautiful chorus than the Boss CE-2w. It's got all the charm of my CE-2 with none of the faults. I remember seeing that those oscillators have some seriously tight tolerances between sounding perfect and sounding just off-enough to drive you nuts.

I have this Waza VB2. Its great! I like how it ramps up. I feel like the Boss has something special going for it. The TC Electronic Tailspin is good, too as a stripped down budget version of the effect.

I had the tailspin and I found the noisefloor a bit too much. I'm going to try the JHS Chorus 3. It's digital so I hope the noise will be much less.

Thanks! When I first plugged into the VB-2, I was a bit worried because everything I played through it just felt like out-of-tune-notes. When you know that vibrato is going to be part of the equation, it kinda forces you to take a different approach, which I think might become part of my go-to set of effects now.

Opening jam was exceptionally tasty. Vibrato has become my second fav modulation, if there's such a thing. Really, every effect can be just the right spell for a given situation but man... phase, vibrato... Anyway, much as I love Leo and his creations, I cannot support his flip flopping of Tremelo and Vibrato. The wiggle stick is a Vibrato arm/bar, etc.

I love the vb-2. I was hesitant about the behringer vibrato, but I was really impressed by how good it sounds and how useful it is to have. It was far beyond my expectations.

The opening jam was good and about as good a use of vibrato as I've heard in a while. Boss must have a thing for chorus and vibrato as they even put those effects in an amp way back when. I own a newer JC-40 with those effects built in and I love the chorus, but vibrato? Meh. I dunno. It's just not me. But you do it justice, I gotta admit.

Thanks! That’s why it took a while to come up with it, it’s so easy to vibrato to just sound… wrong and just out of tune. I think having the other instruments in the mix also helps. Obviously, more experiments are needed :)

I decently got this pedal and it’s awful!! Only joking :) I really like it!! Some ask why use a Vibrato pedal? You just need to play with one and then you will know :) the hold function is such a great feature! I just like how this pedal is different to others, gets you to think how to use it! When to use it! very musical

Not a classic. Sorry to say but it's not Memory Man, Klon, Fuzz Face or even Boss tuner levels of iconic and it never will be. It's just another pedal, a good one yes, but an absolute legend - sorry no.

I agree! When this pedal was originally released in the 80's sales were so bad that BOSS discontinued it after 6 months. It only became desirable because it was rare. Rare because no one wanted it and therefore limited production. I had one and could find no use for it.
