My absolute favourite SNL sketch ever, a masterclass in writing and timing. Every second line turns the scene upside down and there is such a tension throughout. The chemistry between Mulaney and Hader is just unreal. Hader's delivery of every line is hilarious and unsettling at the same time. It never dips for a full 7 minutes. This is a perfect example of how to write a skit that doesn't beat a single joke into the ground. The premise is funny, sure, but they keep riffing on the characters and upping the ante with the host's banter.
