I've been looking for content like this to learn something about raising my own two boys. Thank you for being honest. The first 10 video I watched everyone was being PC and it was stupid. I really appreciate this video!

I hate it that people say 'just wait until the girls are teens' it's just based on stereotypes. There are loads of super chill girls and stereotypes like that are horrible and really damaging to self image

I think it's much more to do with personality, but because of people's stereotypes, wether they know they feel that way or not, cause them to treat them differently and ultimately force them to think i the stereotypical way for their gender. The reason pink is the favourite colour of so many girls is because they are surrounded by pink and sparkles when they are younger and don't have a choice. They believe that that is right, and it almost makes them feel safe, as it reminds them of their childhood. The reason many boys are physical is because parents perceive them to be. Of course, hormones do play a role in the way they behave, but it's a very small role and it is all to do with personality. And I bet the reason that mother is saying her son talks less is because she talked to him less than she did her girls when they were younger

exactly, aside from the fact that there are loads of girls who are well behaved and go through teen years easy, and plenty of boys who are terrors who go off the rails, have we thought about the possibility that maybe we just hold girls to higher standards and allow them less freedom and that's why they seem more difficult? The whole "boys will be boys" thing, well yeah, we let them get away with more larrikin behaviour and laugh it off, we don't police their bodies so that's one less topic to fight about, we raise them with the confidence and internal permission to have actual fun like climging stuff, skating around, roughousing, experimenting while girls have had that anything messy, dirty or dangerous trained out of them so what's left to do but sit around and talk, more potential for "bitchiness" there. Girls are trained to push their own needs and feelings aside, while boys are trained to be more direct so girls end up being manipulative, how else are they going to get their needs met? When boys have a physical fight it's seen as normal, but when girls do, it's considered some kind of serious psychological problem, and super abnormal etc etc.

Thanks for acknowledging the toxicity of these stereotypes. I also think it goes both ways of saying teen boys are sexually driven predators.(still have to keep girls safe incase) but it's really damaging and I hate when movies always portray teenagers(specifically girls tbh) as rude with an attitude. It puts a label on demographics and has already have.

I don't think it's a stereotype as much as it comes from the fact that girls can bring a baby home. I think a lot of it stems from decades of putting a lot of responsibility on girls at an earlier age. A boy can go wild and do all kinds of things and you may or may not know about it. But a girl...for decades the worse thing she could do was get pregnant...and that wasn't something you could "hide"...or at least not for long (typically).

Well in my experience girls are easier to raise until they hit puberty. Boys seem to be easier during that time.

Boys need their Dads to raise them. Even the most boy-adaptable mother is no substitute for a decent father who will see raising his son(s) as an adventure.

I wouldn't say daughters are harder to raise. The difference is how the parents views each child. A lot of sons are usually freer to experience life. A parent tends to trust their sons. but daughters in a lot of cases have trust with an extent. Not all but a large number of parents restrict their daughters from experiences because of their own fear of their daughter having sex, a baby, or getting hurt. When they are old enough to be away from their parents, they might get into a situation where they could get hurt. But the experiences you could have been opened to giving them as a kid could save their life and teach them how to handle it. You teach boys to fish, shoot, hunt, and fight. if you're not teaching your daughter that also then you're raising your daughter to be a target. You should think of every stranger as a potential murderer. it doesn't matter if your daughter has a baby, she has options, but not teaching her to protect herself, or not giving her experiences is why raising her is probably harder. the parent made it hard for themselves trying to restrict their daughters because of potential threats that will happen regardless whether it's now or later on in life. When it comes to drama and talking a lot, you should be happy your kids talk to you at all because most kids don't trust their parents with information because even know you shouldn't a lot of parents do judge their kids and hold them to insane standards and the happens more with daughters.

Well, in family, my mum had my brother and I, and without a doubt, my brother is the most troubled kid, I got independent first, I did everything first at an early and young age, and my brother is still stuck in the “I don’t wanna grow up” complexion.

I can tell you from experience that girls are harder. I have two nieces who everyone in the family had to raise and mentor. The youngest has problems socializing the other one is becoming a spoiled smart talking asshole. It takes work to make them act right. If they were boys I'd teach them everything in the book no problem.
