Honestly, when I think of food where the concept sounds disgusting but it actually tastes really good, the first thing that comes to my mind is cheese. @@HarleyCringe Fun fact: the red juice you see in steaks and such isn't blood! Steaks are solid chunks of muscle and blood vessels don't go between muscle fibers, so unless the butcher was extremely incompetent and somehow got blood on the meat (and then didn't wash it off), you're not eating any blood when you eat steak. The red juice you see is actually something called myoglobin. It's similar to the hemoglobin found in blood, in that it's a protein that stores oxygen molecules, but it's meant to provide oxygen directly to the muscle fibers instead of carrying it all around the body like blood/hemoglobin does

so toast sandwiches are 100% a meme, but they really cant be bad. the whole point of them was to be a food that really sick people could eat when they threw up anything else. Everyone likes toast with good butter, all a toast sandwitch is, is that but with an extra textural layer the thing is you need to butter both sides of the toast AND add butter to the bread, you need a lot of butter to make it not dry and the bread brings out some extra flavours of toast that you wouldn't normally notice

I'm suprised they didn't go towards Fermented food like kimchi or mildly bizzare like Chicken Mole (chocolate in a chicken recipe?)

Well, chocolate is an ingredient that does contribute to the mole's flavor but if you try it you certainly wouldnt say its chocolate if you dont know it alredy. Its there to get a bit of sweetness.

None of the boys come from places that have any sort of Mexican food culture sadly.... I'm in Australia and finding good Mexican here is a real Unicorn hunt.

If caviar tastes only like seawater/salt it‘s cheap caviar!! Good caviar should have a complex flavour profile. If you‘re served caviar in a restaurant and it‘s flavourless you know they skimped out.

Please don’t be upset at me for saying this but salt and vinegar as a crisp flavor didn’t sound good to me at all. But after having it a few times (since moving to the UK) I can’t seem to stop eating it 😂 On the flip side, something that sounds amazing but tastes disgusting has to be sparkling water (for me personally at least).

1:30 the egg thing is a cultural/historical thing if you from a nation that repeatedly had problem whit raw egg having what its called that makes it dangerus to eat raw but safe if cooked. the general culture is raw egg bad. if you from a nation that did not have that problem whit egg then raw egg was more common. 3:15 the toast toast I think the thing is that it messes whit ones brain. Like you eat it and the mouth and tasbuds and brain goes... hold on is the crispy chicken? the soft bread between the toasted bread juts confuses the human body on what it is its actually eating.

Bread drenched in extra virgin olive oil, salt and finishing salt (preferably smoked Maldon) is good. But a bread sandwich is just stupid.

It honestly really surprises me how many people (mostly americans) complain about Europeans having steak tartare is nasty and disgusting, but then they literally go eat sushi the next day..

Natto just seems like it might be like "Drop bears" in australia, a prank all the locals play on tourists by pretenting its perfectly normal and serious. Oh yes kaigai guest, we all love these stinky rotten slimy beans, umai, here try some. (all the japanese in the room look at each other out of the side of their eye and try not to laugh)
