Thank you very much for this. As an American, it's a little bit difficult to understand you, but I love listening to your voice. It's nice that you teach, here, the fabrics that are best suited, and intended for certain needles. I didn't know that it made that much of a difference, for needle type and fabric type. Most people don't tell us that. Thanks again.

So helpful - I am about to buy a juki 8700 I am a quilter as well as sewing some of my own clothes. I already have a Janome 525 sewist ( a great little machine and a real workhorse ) also aJanome memory craft 8900 special addition which has the larger throat space and all sorts of fancy stitches. But I think the juki will be great to use to free motion quilt if I just drop the feed dogs and buy a quilting foot for the juki. All that to ask if you think the bonded thread you mentioned would be good to use to quilt or would it be too thick?
@TinaBambina10 ай бұрын
The bonded thread should be ok for quilting , it is a lot thinker and super strong X

Thank you for the video! I have a Juki DDL 8700 and it came with the needles: DPx134/134 90/14. I bought Schmetz needles by giving the name of my machine: Juki DDL8700 and they send me the same blue Schmetz box but it says: Canu: 20:05 1 / NM:90 size:14 / 134 (R) / 135x5 / SY 1955 / DPx5. The needles fit, but I whas confused by hearing you say that I probebly have the wrong needles.
@TinaBambina Жыл бұрын
Hi Marty If the needles fit that’s all that matters really Xx
@AzurBaumi Жыл бұрын
It depends on the needle bar fitted on the machine. I bought a similar machine and it says DBx1 in the description, even on the seller's website. But it came with 134/DPx5/135x5 (different designations for the same thing) and the machine even has a sticker on it that says 135x5. In the manual I found out the needle bar can be either DBx1 or DPx5. So I think it is best to go with the needle type your machine was delivered with. The difference is in the needle shaft diameter. It is 2 mm for DPx5 and I believe 1.63 mm for DBx1. Up to a certain size. From 110 upwards or so, DBx1 needles also have a diameter of 2 mm.

I really enjoyed your video my name is Sabrina I'm from Choctaw Oklahoma and I have cotton thread 100% why does that keep breaking I've checked everything the bobbin the thread of the bobbins have their wound I replace needles I just don't understand why it keeps breaking
@TinaBambina5 күн бұрын
@@sabrinahickey975 Hi Sabrina You have a few things that it could be , first pull the thread to see if it breaks when you pull on it, if it is throw it , the tension on the tension discs is too tight , is the needle in the correct way this could cause it to break the thread if it’s not in place the correct way X

Do you place your small spool thread different than your large cone thread? I am having a difficult time used small spool jean thread thread and tension. If I don't hold the thread with my right hand and keeping tension.on it the bottom stitch is loose and loopy. Any suggestions?

Hi Brenda I don’t have any problems with the smaller cottons ,ever time you change a cotton double check the threading and make sure , the cotton is properly in both the tensions the small one on top and the main one X

Has anyone successfully used 80/12 without resetting hook timing?
@TinaBambina2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn’t have to adjust any timing because you are changing to a different size needle.
@2010stoof2 жыл бұрын
@@TinaBambina ok. I was told by my dealer that if you go higher than 100/16 or below 90/14 (may be able to do 80/12) that you have to reset the hook. Not so much the timing but the distance from the hook point to the scarf. They said that too small needles and you'll skip stitches (hook point too far away) . Too large and you'll be hitting the needle with the hook and could break needles or tear thread. Or worse damage the hook. What needle sizes have you successfully used in your machine as set from factory?

@@2010stoof I bought mine brand new it was delivered and set up in my room about fourteen years ago, the man who set it up didn’t mention any thing about altering things when changing a needle, I’ve used from a seventy up to a hundred and had no problems at all.

@@TinaBambina ok awesome thanks. What size do you use for gutermann sew all? I use 80/12 normally on home machine. I buy Mara 100 from wawak which is the same but alot cheaper and comes in 1000 yard rolls. Almost same price as their small spools at thread store but you get 1000 yards lol. If you're interested I can email you a chart converting the retail color numbers to the commercial Mara 100 numbers. The one they have now is tougher to use because it goes by industrial numbers in numerical order. I made one that uses retail numbers so easier to find your store numbers to the industrial Mara 100 numbers. They also have Mara 70 (Tex 40) and Mara 50 (Tex 60 in 16 colors only though) Mara 30 (Tex 100 which is identical to their heavy duty gold thread they have at thread store for the most part) And if you're going that route for good they have either a 400 thread chart which is good for all Mara 100 or a 700 color thread chart you can buy that covers the 400 from the Mara 100 but also the other 300 available in Mara 70 and others. They're charts that has the real threads wrapped on cards.
