There's so much to unpack here, I'll be coming back to this video again and again.

41:44 where can I find the neural tension resources? I’m working through your beginner course, will that help? Thanks

In any of my books, but best detailed analysis is in the 4th edition of Overcome neck & back pain. Here's a précis: stretchtherapy.net/techniques-in-stretch-therapy/

I have done some of your stretching exercises for the first time this morning and my body was so grateful afterwords. I might not be flexible yet but doing the work connects your body with your mind.
@KitLaughlin3 жыл бұрын
Tom, this is what most people don't realise - you do not need to be flexible to get immense benefits from stretching. Most of the people are demonstrating stretching exercises on KZbin pole dancers or dancers or yoga practitioners but any ordinary human being who is not flexible gets even more benefit from practising stretching. And very few people mentioned just how good it feels! Thanks for commenting.

@@KitLaughlin after watching your videos I googled London stretching classes and I got to chat with this very nice guy, his name is Ashwin Tirodkar. He sent me some useful links from your website.

Gold mine of info here - thanks Kit. I’d love to join one of your workshops one day when money and COVID allows. Are the workshops aimed more at trainers, or are athletes who are looking to improve a specific part of their flexibility welcome?
@KitLaughlin3 жыл бұрын
We have a range of workshops from beginners through the Mastery ones (the big end poses, which are perfect for any athlete who want to focus on, say, the pancake) and the neck and back pain ones. Trainers and athletes can attend any of them, but will get different take-homes from them, because their needs are different. And these are the courses we sell from our site, too (Starter, Mastery, Overcome back pain). All of our courses are available from the site, but there is a huge amount of free material available here on KZbin too. And the Forums are free too.

@@KitLaughlin I actually have your Master the Squat program which I bought many years ago (I think it's part of your Mastery course bundle now) - although I never could improve my ankle ROM. Watching this interview has re-inspired me a little to give it another go. I'll also sign up to your forums now. Thanks and all the best.

Pandiculation is a part of our system. All details on the stretchtherapy.net website. There's a huge amount of detailed, relevant, and fluff-free information there.

Marty, I assure you I did not delete your comment (and I have not deleted anyone else's comment either). My policy is that if I do delete a comment, I will say what was in the comment and I'll explain why I deleted it - I have done this since this channel began. I saw your comment in my notifications, and clicked on it to respond, but when the system brought me here, there was no comment visible. Please try again, and if Google deletes your comment a second time, please send it to me to my email address and I will post it for you. kit @ stretchtherapy.net

Update: your comment is still visible in my notifications, but the YT interface will not let me copy it so I can post it here. Clicking on it beings me here where your comment does not display. And the only options there (in Notifications) is to hide you, mute you, or turn off notifications... I have no idea what's happening here. Please try again.

I will post Marty's comment/question here, as I received it via email. I have no idea why google is deleting your comments! "Weird? I'll try and remember my thoughts. Hi Kit, I really enjoyed that chat. You give me hope that one day I'll get some mobility in my hips. I'm a 55 year old male who has just discovered handstands and mobility. I've been working on this for the last 8 months and noticed very limited range in my splits. When I 'pancake' I max out at 85 degrees and my groins feel like they're full of steel cables. No stretch available to work on and quite painful. My left hip is a tight joint and needs opening up first before I can get movement without impingement. Feel like i need to get put on a rack to pull the joint apart. I love your philosophy and wish there was someone like you here in Perth. I am seeing a physio and also getting massage therapy but no one seems to have heard of your techniques or do them. I have tried Stretched Perth which does fascial stretch but again none of your techniques were tried, I felt it was a real waste of $200. I tried your elephant walk and immediately could feel the benefits. Hamstrings are tight but not like steel cables, this I will improve as time goes by. Any way thanks for your info. Regards Marty from Perth, Western Australia. "

We do have teachers in WA, Marty, but I do not know the geography there so am not sure how far away they are. Have a look here: stretchtherapy.net/stretch-therapy-teachers/#tve-jump-175d0dca3d2 and click on WA. As well, check out the forums: if you become a member (free) you can post images or videos of your stretching; it's much easier to help you that way.

This interviewer was really distracting. Kit is talking and a lot of the time the interviewer isn’t even looking at him. When ian is talking though kit is giving him undivided attention which makes the viewer listen as intently. Not trolling just honest feedback.
@KitLaughlin3 жыл бұрын
It did look a bit that way, but Ian had prepared a bunch of questions, and was referring to them, that's all. He's a good one. I do appreciate your feedback.

@@KitLaughlin I was wondering that 😌. For me it was a good lesson for me personally on being aware that I am LOOKING like I’m listening when someone is talking to me . My brain likes to run at a fast pace and I wouldn’t be surprised if I look somewhat non attentive myself even though I am . Thanks for all your great work !
