Some of them want to friend zone a guy they truly want to engage in a romantic relationship with just to prove hard to get, not knowing that some guys don't know how to love a girl twice. I was friends, which later transformed being lover, then friends with benefits then lover again with a girl who stayed many 1000 kms away. Due to pandemic and war we aren’t able to meet for the last 2.5 years. We also broke up for a year. She came back to be lover, which again changed to be friends. I, personally, think that walking away is the best option, overall. Negotiating is no good, because the woman should already know if she wants you, especially if you've been friends for quite a while. Explain to her that since you are on a different page, you have to move on. I felt like she was falling for me because she was starting to pursue me. However, at that point, she started to back off and I wasn't ready for that. It caught me off guard and I lost my s**t. I started pursuing her and becoming needy. I know, that was a bad mistake. She dumped me and even told me she founded someone else (I don't know if that was true or a lie). I went no contact and, after two months of radio silence, she reached out. However, nothing good came out of it. This is how I do it: #1. There is simply no option of accepting that insulting offer. #2. If I demonstrate to her why I am the best suited for her and she insists, I will make it clear that I want nothing less of a romantic relationship and walk away. If she comes back to me within a reasonable time, say in under 2 weeks, I will pursue a relationship with her fully as if no hitch had occurred. I will understand that she might have had her uncertainties (they are normal) or she was probably going through something. #3. If I walk away and she comes back to me after months, a year or several, then I know that she has been in another or several relationships she thought would be better than what I could offer but they have disappointed her. She's therefore only coming back to me as a second (or third or fourth, or....) option. Now that's an insult and I ususally do 1 of 2 things. If the woman is still looking hot and appealing to me sexually, I will get intimate with her and dump her and tell her my mind to her face. If I no longer find her appealing even physically, I will tell her off and remind her everything and show her the middle finger. In either case, there is just no way I am dating the woman who rejected me on mundane grounds. I am not a wastebin. And, ironically, when you walk away, she will ALWAYS come back looking for you, somehow. No matter how long it takes.

I’ve reconnected with a lady I dated for a few months about 2 years ago. We have been texting/calling for over 3 months now and have spent time together twice. Most recently we confessed how into each other we are/were and she even said she realized she loved me. We got physicals, to say the least… But then she said she has a gut feeling that I’m not the one, and thinks we should keep things away from romance. I feel like we never built a true companionship, which is vital for the longevity of any romantic relationship. There’s always sexual tension between us and she can’t keep her hands off of me, so I know that despite her wanting friendship, it’s not because there isn’t a spark. Part of me wants to agree to friendship because I want to show her that I’m invested in more than a physical, romantic relationship. The other part of me thinks I need to stand firm on what I want from her and let her know that although I want companionship, I know there will always be that chemistry between us and I don’t want to pretend it’s not there.
