I have been the female friend. He was married at the time. Wife didn’t know a thing. Men interpret friendships very differently from women. A masculine male has no reason to be friends with a woman. Men don’t bond like women. It might start out as a friendship, but when there is no transparency with the partner its a red flag. The guy goes out of his way to play both of you against each other. Its not always about looks either. As you spend more time together an emotional bond is created. This is how marriages break up. Usually the guy is friends with a woman as he wants the benefits of the relationship but don’t want to be committed. This is my experience. Now he wants to reconnect. I guess the girlfriend after divorce didn’t work out or he got bored with her. Not every situation is the same but be aware of the friend especially if he is not being transparent about it. Not every cheating scenario starts as a physical relationship. If a guy wants to be your friend usually there is a reason behind rather just being genuine friends.

A very secure man can have friendships with females....such as office buddies, lunch partners but, they are all treated like sisters and it ends at the office. An insecure man, especially if he has a very low value nagging wife or girlfriend may search elsewhere or may not start out as a woman on the side but can develop into one. For me it’s not so much feelings of jealousy of any other women but more about not being truthful and how this sets up a dynamic that is unfair. If he’s got others he’s still “friendly” with and keeping options open what I detest is the double standard. I'm a guy and trust me men's priority is to want more than female friendship. A man who is serious won't even bother with female friends if he sees you as a serious partner. There is a reason why a lot of religions and cultures are against couples (or anyone!) having close friends with the opposite gender, purely because dangers do exist when you are involved! Some people have written books and have done talk shows on this subject, because men are wired very differently from women and have sexual thoughts about other women. I know Steve Harvey and some strict Christians are strongly against it, however if you do find yourself in an unfortunate situation than this video is excellent! i personally wouldn't entertain men who have female friends because i dont believe those relationships are 'innocent' . I agree to a certain extent but sometimes I think you do need to put your foot down and tell him it is not ok. Exactly ! There must be boundaries set and he needs to know that you will not just sit back waiting on him while they are off together. You show your value by showing him that if he behaves that way with other women then he can't expect you to be sitting home alone. He has to realize that he's taking the chance on losing you to someone else if he doesn't get his act together. He will become too uncomfortable wondering what you are doing and his attention will quickly snap back to where it belongs and the friend will quickly fall by the wayside. Telling him you want their female friends boyfriends numbers in exchange is brilliant because then both of them will have to face how inappropriate their relationship is and the price of continuing it. Mmm I don't know about this Greta. I could stand he goes out with a girl friend by time to time if he is open about it, like it's not a secret, and even better if he introduces me at some point. But sleeping over? I think it's being too familiar with another woman, like those little things I would only see (his PJ or absence of, morning face, ...) I want to be the only one to know those things about him. I would be ok with that ONLY if the other girl has her own boyfriend or husband, but if she's single that's a red flag for me. It's just not a natural situation.

My girlfriend, has a female friend who used to like her. My girlfriend used to talk to her friend about me. When my girlfriend and I started dating, her friend All of a sudden decided to tell her she likes her. My girlfriend tells me, and I don’t feel any type of way about it at first because me and her just started dating and I didn’t want to come between their friendship. My girlfriend then goes to tell me that her friend says that her family said they should date, then I start getting kinda annoyed, then my girlfriend made a post on Snapchat that says women who wear ankle bracelets are more attractive, I tell her to delete the post because whoever likes you is going to start wearing them. Then a couple days later her friend starts wearing them. I then start complaining about their friendship and saying I don’t want her being friends with her anymore at that time we were almost 2 years of dating. Then the friend ends up going to the same college as my girlfriend and she tells me that all their friends says they should date and what not. So by this time I’ve been telling her over and over again I don’t like her being friends with her. Then now all of a sudden they call each other bestfriends now and I’m so irritated and I feel very disrespected and we’ve been dating for 3 years now. Now her bestfriend has a boyfriend. And I still don’t want her being friends with her because I don’t want any feelings to be brought back up by her bestfriend and I don’t want my girlfriend catching feeling for her. My girlfriend asked her “bestfriend” if she would ever like her again and she says to her that my girlfriend would have to change her mind. My girlfriend gets mad at me when I tell her I don’t like her being friends with her, and now she just told me she doesn’t care about my feelings because whatever happened is old. And she is not picking a side. She calls me jealous and insecure now because of the way I feel.

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. Also, most people are pretty much comfortable enough to be naked around someone and have sex with someone that they have no romantic feelings towards. So sex isn't really a thing about romance. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner is. Also, you would more likely be much closer to a person who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

Also, I heard that most people can live a life without romance and can still be happy. In today's world, less people are dating and getting married now, and they seem to be more happy being single rather than being in romantic relationship with someone. Also, you're going to have a much deeper spoken understanding and connection with your best friend than you are with a romantic partner or spouse.
