I'd say, "I believe you. I feel grateful for your honesty. I respect your need for space from me at this time. Let's plan now to begin separating in a way that supports the strongest future possible for each of us... To start, I'll take the kids to visit extended family for a week or two while you arrange another dwelling, pack, and move out. We should meet with lawyers to figure out how we're going to manage the start of our separate economic futures. It hurts but I don't want to keep you in something you're unhappy with. I vowed to take care of you until I die so if I can best do that by respecting your feelings, so be it. I'm preparing to remove my presence from your influence. I feel grateful for the time we gave it as I do for the family we created. Thank you for the adventure. I'm learning valuable lessons from this opportunity."

A very good talk. I think this would be very helpful for a couple that would like to stay together. For a couple where one there isn't anymore talking or the couple is on the way to divorce this conversation would be pointless

Good Stuff. Been there. Going forward I'll be doing that 30, 60, 90 day check ✔ back and an annual review on our marriage. Qhats working and whats not. The check backs will be on the calendar and done while going out to dinner. Celebrate 🍾 🥂 that we are on track 👣 and making sure we continue.

What about you were never in love and you married because he looked good on paper? And now after 6 years you still are not in love. How to revive something that was never there to begin with? And on top of that at a chemical biological level your body rejects him?

It’s difficult to get something back that was never there. However I do believe that two people can grow to love each other as they connect emotionally and make intentional efforts to meet each other’s top needs. I’m not sure what it means for a body to reject someone at a chemical, biological level. I think that is more of a mental, emotional experience. Biologically and chemically dopamine is released when we touch people, dopamine and oxytocin is released when we have sex with others. All of these chemicals cause us to be drawn more to those people.

The best way to save yourself from a loveless marriage... is to not get married in the first place. vast Majority of the time there is no good outcome for the man. thus the odds favor avoiding the situation in the first place. you avoid child support, alimony, asset forfeiture, stress, and financial ruin none of which you gain from being married.

My partner says I don't love you anymore but said she wants to keep living together. I calmly talked to her and she opened up about why she think she doesn't love me anymore and why she doesn't see future together. Is there hope?

If she’s interested in working on the relationship and doing the things necessary to “feel love” for you, however she defines that…then yeah there’s hope. If she’s just saying she doesn’t love you and isn’t interested in trying to get that back, there might not be much hope

Before that she used to do lot of sport, dance, music and I used to hang out with friends regularly, learn new things and do some sport. My husband ask for separation after 23 years and told me he’s not in love with me anymore. He feels the relationship has taken its course. He doesn’t even communicate with me anymore. What can I do?

Not sure there is much you can do if he isn’t interested in working on the relationship. You can continue to make effort on your side to connect, care and love him, but that is difficult if he is unwilling to talk. If he’s willing to go to counseling and discover how to reconnect and rekindle your relationship, that would be a win.

Without any details on why she is feeling how she is or any context it’s tough to make reservations. Often when people make statements like that, they’ve already decided they aren’t interested in being open to change

You are wrong. Marriages built on deception are absolutely hopeless when the deception becomes manifest. Once the innocent spouse becomes disgusted then it's over.

pointless when you're in an emotionally abusive marriage and you're told you're not loved anymore. ignored for 15 years; and a spouse who completely disengaged with his wife and kids; the kids and i were no more than "items" he owned or possessed but just sat in a corner forgotten..the past is the future, so even if you recovered HE would have to work at it; and HE is not going to bc men are not likely to change.
