That's why I retwist my own hair, palm roll, crochet, smooth and dye! When I need a style I'll go to the shop because I'm still perfecting twistin and styling at the same time to limit frizz but I'm tender headed soooo sometimes I give up on the mere pain of it all. I trust myself and I rather mess up my own hair then rely on someone else and they jack me up. 1.5 months loc'd and I don't regret it.

Unless you are doing your own hair palm rolling is a complete and utter waste of money. With interlocking your hair is going to look braid because of the way interlocking is done. If crochet is done right it really is a no brainer. If someone doesn’t know what they’re doing it will always be a bad maintenance method .

I started my locs via interlocking and maintained my locs the first 3 years. Now I go to someone because I got tired of doing it. So yes you can do it yourself. Just pay attention when you are doing it, so you don’t mess up the rotation.

When should we wash hair if we are going to crochet our hair? Should we crochet on wet or dry 4B/4C hair?

Dry. You can also wash your hair right after it being crocheted.

Do not crochet on dry are wet hair make sure ur hair is jus a lil damp but not dry.. dry are wet hair is prone to breakage wit the crochet hook

It really depends on how thick your locs are or if you don't have locs yet you can jus use the regular 0.5 crochet hook it works on any type of hair
