question, son committed baseball D1, no athletic money but got the academic $$. School sent a letter of commitment but there is no monetary amount listed. Just "academic scholarship", should that be written into the letter of commitment since it's not an official NLI since they had no more athletic $$ left? Confused about how to process this.

Ask the coach but for some schools academic money is not in your National letter of intent. This is not uncommon.

Once offered (and say its not a target school) should you post the offer on social media? Will posting draw other offers?

Typically no. But you can use it as leverage with schools when you talk to them.

Is it acceptable to request a visit or should we wait for an invite? Been messaging a coach back and forth and there is some interest but they have invited us to campus yet.

Usually they invite you but one strategy is you can say you are going to be on campus (enter date(s)) and would love to stop by and say hello.

my son recently committed to an NAIA school in Michigan. We have been dealing mainly with an assistant coach who is the recruiting Director, and he seems to be responsive and open to text messages. What type of progress reports or updates should my son be texting or emailing to this coach between now and his senior season which starts in March? He was offered some athletic and academic money so I feel like we owe them some semi regular updates?

Once a month updates on athletics and academics is a good rule of thumb.

Your opinion?...coach wants my son to have zoom call w/his mother and I. We know he wants to offer, but my son is not interested in the school as he has other offers and more coming. He wants to narrow down offers/programs before NLI day, just not this particular school. Likes the coach but other programs offer more appealing upside. Should he tell the coach he's going another direction or accept the zoom call/offer, thank him, and get back with him in a week to confirm hes going another ditection?

I would hear him out. To me that is the right thing to do. You can always respectfully say no later.

An Offer is not Offer till you the school sends you a Letter of Intent. Once you sign, then it is official.

When you verbally commit to a school means absolutely nothing. You can change your mind whenever you want. Once you sign the letter of intent than it is a official.

How valuable is having multiple in-development pitches? I'm going into my junior year and have 7 pitches. Of them my 4 non-fastball variations are, atleast somewhat, developmental, but I also don't have crazy speed and average accuracy. So would they really like that enough to take me on in a good D3 and maybe even D2?
@RecruitingWithAlex
@RecruitingWithAlex 2 жыл бұрын
You really only need 3 pitches to play at the next level. An accurate fastball around 84+ and a good developing breaking ball and change up that you can throw for a strike.
