My husband and I both have the secure attachment style even prior to meeting each other, so now we’re in a secure marriage. There are no “games” and no drama. If we do have conflicts, we both endeavor to resolve it as early as possible. It’s truly a gift ♥️ and I thank God for it! 🙏🏼

1. Ready to make a commitment within the 2 -3 month mark 2. Have a tendency to ask - will i be able to meet their needs, will the other person be able to meet my needs - view the dating phase as an education phase 3. Express their needs healthily 4. Have good boundaries in the dating phase 5. Are healthily present in the honeymoon stage 6. Have tools to manage triggers and challenges during the power struggle phase 7. Know how to compromise - showing up for their own needs and the others. No self sacrifice on either persons needs 8. Will have prepared and mastered the tools for remaining in the bliss stage

I actually made a comment to my ex about fitting to each other’s life - precisely as you have described , and he took a great offense to it. so , it was validating to hear that this was totally normal behavior on my part . all I implied was , as we are in our 40-es , we have to be careful inviting someone new into each other’s life , as there are kids involved.

This is awesome. I always wanted a healthy template, but I would love more details. If you're coming up with a course on this, I am signing up 100%. In addition to understanding how secures interact through the six stages, it would also be great to cover some of their tools that come more naturally to them but that can be learned (e.g. communication / conflict resolution skills, emotional regulation, creating healthy interdependency, etc).

This is probably out of reach, but I'd love to see more details in the form of videos with actors acting out what a secure relationship looks like in various situations. Like, with realistic dialog and not ideal stuff from a psychology textbook.

Thank you. That was great. Love to hear more about the anxious and avoidant/dismissive combination in relationships. How individuals form that attachment style and how tl heal it. Also if there is any hope for avoidant and anxious combinations in relationships. Many Thanks

how often does a securely attached individual think about the other person in the dating stage and what does that look like?
@silverlining7298
@silverlining7298 Жыл бұрын
I guess they would be busy with thier own priorities ie gym, business, family etc. But they would prob check in every few days and set a date etc. I think they are more balanced. Not texting everyday long conversations but not pulling away being not available. X

@@silverlining7298 You hit the nail on the head!....I am a previous AP and FA with an earned Secure style for 10 years, almost entirely secure by now. This is exactly how I interact. I might think about the other person a lot or a little throughout the week but will not reach out unless I have a valid and rational reason to, I am secure not needy. I also am always available and responsive if they reach out, so not pulling away or ghosting. I am secure and confident in who I am and my value, I have a strong growth mindset and have other priorities. I can not control the other person or their reactions, I can only control how strong, stable, secure, and confident I am. If you know you are a masculine man that few women would want to lose, a man that will leave a hole wherever he is absent, that helps a lot. Level up yourself, become the best man you can be! Become the man that does not compare himself to anyone, that is the path to security! Always come from a place of strength! Always attack from the high ground!

I'm in a deepening emotional relationship with a DA. We have both shared quite a lot and I feel trust keeps growing. (I'm FA) But we have not labelled or talked about our relationship in any way. I feel I still need to keep giving him lots of time before expecting us to do that. Am I right?

How much time are you willing to give without feeling neglected. Figure that out and communicate it healthily to him and see how he responds. Not saying he will respond in a negative way, but if he does keep in mind not to take it personally. Love yourself first.
