What Will Get Unbanned in Commander?

Something I’m not seeing anyone talk about is the fact that Coalition Victory is a very easy win-con with the new Overlord of the Hauntwoods card. Spend 4 mana to Impending cost getting an “Everywhere” land token that counts as all land types, play Coalition Victory at the earliest opportunity.

I hardly see 2 cards and a total of 12 mana as an easy win-con. I'd say that the 2 triome/3 shock Jodah win is more consistent but even then it isn't very good. If it doesn't get unbanned, it's because it's boring and they didn't think it would drive sales with a reprint rather than because it's too strong.

On emrakul, you can reanimate her. Her graveyard shuffle is a trigger and uses the stack, so you can use an instant to bring her back.

According to the RC, Emrakul was banned because it was "too boring of a wincon". Yeah, ok. Have you met Thassa's Oracle?

I would like to point out that there's only 1 wheel in Leovold colors but he'd still probably be cEDH because you would have access to Thoracle while denying card draw. Also, Erayo doesn't care if it's your spells, it can be your opponents' spells as well. Turn 1 Erayo basically forces people not to interact on anyone else's turn while letting the Erayo player benefit from countering other people's stuff. As someone that would probably play Erayo cEDH, Erayo should never be unbanned.

Roffelos would be a fair commander imo Like yes turn three 6 mana...in mono green Cool...certain elf cards already are ramping you more than that The fast mana they just banned was also doing that Sol ring also does that basically

I wholeheartedly disagree with the sundering titan placement. Ramp/lands decks need a way to be kept in check with more and more powerful ramp entering the format. And it’s 8 mana. Harmless

I think the issue WOTC would see is it doesn’t really stop big mana decks like that though. The check you’re describing only applies to 3+ color decks. Mono green or Gruul I don’t think would really care about a sundering titan, and those are usually the biggest perpetrators for ramping way too many lands in the first place (although I won’t deny 5 color can do it as well.)

Emrakul is arguably not even the strongest Eldrazi anymore either. While super scary, Ulamog coming in and halving someone’s deck and getting Annihilator 372727 for it and a Ward that eats more cards. Or The World Anew literally stealing someone’s entire board and having a 6 colourless madness cost to punish her even being discarded?

This is the argument that I've been having with people nonstop. Emrakul is just the flashiest Eldrazi but she certainly isn't the strongest. I can cast either of the other Emrakuls for half her cost or less and they certainly don't have less than half the effect (and every time I've cast World Anew for the madness early on, I've won the game). New Ulamog tends to knock someone out on cast for 10 mana, he doesn't even need to swing. Hell, the one that I tend to tutor for is Butcher of Truth because it lets me draw into another one or protect my win. The strongest part of casting Emrakul isn't actually the Emrakul, it's that you can use the extra turn for more Eldrazi. People argue that it's strong because you can cheat it out but it's a dead card in those decks when you can't and commanders that let you cheat big things out don't actually get much stronger by having access to her. Kinnan literally wouldn't even run her. In essence, she's a win-more card because casting her from behind will maybe slow down the person about to win but certainly not enough to stop them and casting her while even with people will just get the caster targeted until dead

Isochron scepter only works with instants, time walk wouldn't combo with it. Really accurate tierlist for the most part but I'd switch Erayo and Yawgmoth's Bargain

Balance is so busted it's not even funny Imagine playing enchantment stax pieces and playing it...oh now everyone has 3 lands and their spells cost way more and blah blah blah Oh and also just...getting back everything you sacrifice that turn works too.

There was not "overwhelming hate" towards the RC in the form of death threats. 99% of people were saying "were sorry this happened to you." Lots and lots of players were confused and letdown by them banning cards. The narrative shifted to the bad eggs when that's not constructive at all. Why would you keep cards banned because some people acted poorly? Mana Crypt is a fine card, don't like it? Rule 0. Content creators spent 100% of their time talking about 0.9% of the vocal idiots online. It's kind of ridiculous. Also you're not talking about Tiers. The likelihood of any card coming off the banned list is dramatically higher when it can just be placed in Tier 4 for super competitive players. So the kind of "I think Iona is too powerful" take is an old way of thinking. Think of it as tiers.
