On trying things and believing in yourself: I feel like it took me a long time to get there but as soon as I did I'm truly experiencing thought creating reality in big big ways. I have wild stories about this that seem almost unbelievable. Believing in me, trusting my gut, and having faith to trust in my path have taken me pretty far in a few years. Don't wait until your 30, like me, to do it! Also on plan to travel: moving away from home was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. Like Carlie said, even if it's for just a shorter period of time. Car, I love your idea for the Hot Seat. Keep rockin', my sister. You're doing an amazing job staying authentic, true to you, and breeding positivity into our world. Love you!

Great advice on where you say that we could learn things in highschool that could help us as adults. I personally at a young age, the end of my elementary years actually, i matured towards the end of the year. Because of a situation at home that affected my family and I greatly, i developed a new view of how the world and life truly was. At that point in my life i realized that my childhood days were slowly departing from my memories as i was growing up at a fast rate. Until now i do still learn many things, however because of the situation, i began to have the mindset a bit like an adult's. My mom also realized this everytime i would just sit down and talk to her. My father however, im sure he still believes I know nothing about what the real world is like but in fact, i probably learned most of it from his actions and the outcome of them. It is frustrating sometimes when the people around me to dont really see I've changed and I've grown up, but its nice to know that im still very young and have many more childhood memories to make with my dear friends and family. I have now finished my middle school days and I will soon take on the adventures of a freshman trying to figure out what they're going to do with their lives. I am scared for what has yet to come, but i look forward to the countless efforts i put in to change and improve for the better. Thanks for the outstanding advice, it is greatly appreciated and it will not go unnoticed in my journey to this unforeseeable path we call life. :)🖤

Just graduated high school back in November of 2018. All I wish I did was to accept kids wanting to help me and saying yes when they asked me to come to sit with them when I was 14. I knew my grade for over 10 years as our school goes from preschool up all the way to high school. For our grade, it was probably harder to say our last group goodbye as we saw each other just about every day for our whole childhood whereas others usually move schools and meet new people. Now I am starting uni in 2 weeks times and its still weird not seeing everyone you have known for your whole life anymore.

Wowie, high school was a rough time for me. Ten years ago now I graduated. I thought I had myself and everyone all figured out, but I sure didn't. Also the time when my depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, sleep disorders, all came to the surface. Some of those I've gotten rid of. Others I just now manage much better. I think everyone around me just thought it was an angsty phase. And a lot of kids do go through that, but even back then I knew it was clinical for me. I hope that the tides are turning now and kids feel more comfortable getting help. I did have some good times back then and times I do miss. I wish I could tell myself it'll get easier and you'll end up in Colorado ten years from now. Doing something adventurous--fighting wildfires, challenging yourself, and doing just fine.

I am actually surprised you didn't mention the academic portion of High School. Education is soooo important! And, for most Americans who go to public schools, High School is free! Be a sponge. Soak up as much info as you can. If you have a question, ask! Take the opportunity to learn how to properly formulate a sentence. I am noticing many of my millennial peers lack basic communication skills - verbal and written. I am thinking back to my high school days and everyone who screwed around in class honestly isn't doing well in present day. I really think High School teaches young people very valuable lessons that last a lifetime. Yes, how to socialize and interact with people. But, also, it teaches you how to get along as a professional adult. Strive for college! Read! Study! Be curious. Ask questions. Question authority. Get to know your teachers - they can be great references one day! Learn how to write a resume. Learn how to balance a check book. Learn all of this in High School. Also, don't do drugs. Just say no. #D.A.R.E ;) I am a 90s kid

Carlie, thank you so much for this video! I’m currently in grade 12, and even though I’m graduating in a few months, this video was a nice reminder to keep pushing. I feel so done with school and I can’t wait to get out of there. However, I’ve been trying to take in as much as I can these last few months. I went through I tough time earlier this school year with stress and anxiety (I mean it’s still stressful af lol) but it was because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with my life, and now I’ve decided that I’m going to take a gap year. I plan to go to Australia, I’m so excited! Now that I’ve figured that out, I’ve found that I’ve allowed myself to take in the whole high school thing more. I’m dying to get out of there, but at the same time I wish that time would slow down a bit because I’m terrified of what’s going to come afterwards. Anyways, again thank you for this video. Coming from someone who’s going to be going through some MAJOR life changes, I love watching your videos because it’s really nice to hear about your experiences and the advice you give from them. Okay I’m going to stop rambling haha. I hope you have a wonderful day :)

Lol this may be a little long but I feel like sharing :) : High School for me wasn't really bad at all, sometimes keeping up on the work was stressful. But I tried not to immerse myself in school and social life too much and tried to avoid drama in any way possible, so for the most part is was smooth sailing. I had those few friends who were closest to me that were good true friends and that's all I cared about. Yes of course there were boyfriends and one very big deal boyfriend that I was with for a while, sure I felt the heart break but I was prepared and ready to move on when he broke it off, yet it didn't seem like he himself was, he tried causing drama but I avoided it and in some ways him doing that helped me move on faster because of how immature he was being XD I did have friends go through a whole lot though, so I just tried to be there for them the best I could. I also stood up for kids who were bullied, I wouldn't tolerate it if I saw bullying. Middle School though was way worse for me because of all the emotions, hormones, and puberty and I didn't know how to handle it. I missed A LOT of school from getting physically sick because of anxiety (fevers, throwing up and all). So towards the end of 8th grade we went to a doctor to see what was truly going on, turns out I had intense Generalized Anxiety Disorder. So all through the next years of High School I was seeing a doctor/therapist on a regular basis and taking medication, and honestly that may have helped me way more then I ever thought it would. After High School I decided to stop the medication part just because I didn't want to be on it forever, and I have been doing alright for the most part through college. :) This was very long winded thank you for reading it if you did ^.^

I guess I would say not to be angry with your parents. During my high school years my parents were very strict. They never let me date or go out at night with friends. I can't remember much about the whole high school experience but that. I had way more fun in college. That's when I really started to spread my wings and met my future husband. Now I thank my parents for being strict and keeping me safe. They just didn't want me going the wrong path.

Truly loved this video!!!! I would have told myself that I was as good as the next person, there were so many groups of people and you feel like only if I was in that group, people would like me more.. Those people are on fb and those people are the ones coming to me now wanting to be friends on all social media and yes I was good enough but felt like I wasn’t. Please be kind too everyone no matter who they are what they look like because nine times out of ten those people don’t look nothing like they did in high or act like they did in school trust and believe that. We all change and grow! God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives... Our first car what should it be, old or new???

I hated high school! My mom told me we were moving to SLC less than a week before school started. I had no friends, high school was full of cliques. I was a loner, shit I didn't even know my way home, it took me a month to figure it our. Walking to and from school was lonely. My mom was the president of the church person's secretary, when she would get home she never asked about my day or if I had made friends. I would eat lunch in front of my locker, I just wanted to go back to my home in Orem with my friends and where I felt safe. Collage was the same so I dropped out after on semester If you knew me today you would think that's the same person? I'm full of love and laughter, have many friends who look up to me an my opinion. I'm sarcastic and think I'm the funnest person in the world! I look nice, but not the prettiest, but that no longer matters, but I have the best head of hair! It turned grey at 26 after a hysterectomy. After years of coloring it I just embraces the grey, I hardly wear makeup because of the job I do. I'm divorced with my ex as my best friend and also my sister who's taken care of me since out dad was killed when I was 3. So to say those 3 yrs were the worst in my life, helped me shape the fantastic person I am today. Things di happen for a reason I believe. Love your guts Carlie 💕

Carly you are amazing!! I ❤️ you and you are delight to watch! I just wanted to give you some helpful hints to up your video and editing game! Take or leave the advice as you wish. You’re a grown woman and can make her own decisions! 😂😂 1- I think you would GREATLY benefit from using an external microphone. It would tremendously help the eco sound in your room and this make listening to you a lot easier and more pleasant. But your lighting and camera are on point! 👌 2-While I like the general vibe of your thumbnails I think they could use some tidying and freshening up. I think taking a look different mommy and beauty channels and take inspiration on how they do thumb nails would be great! You don’t need to carbon copy them, just find inspiration and make it your own! 3- I think your editing could also use some freshening up too. A cute modern intro and less “iMovie transitions” would make your videos look fresh and up to date! Maybe taking on online editing class would be helpful! I have been watching your videos for almost 7 years. I have always been a huge believer in you through your ups and downs. Take my suggestions for what they are...just suggestions. but know I only tell you these things because I still believe in and support you! You are always a delight and KZbin is blessed to have you on their platform! Xoxo ❤️❤️
