Reminded me of Galbraith's Truth Equation ... How much you trust someone comes from a judgement based on an assessment of their Credibility + their Reliability + how open they are with you (Intimacy) DIVIDED by The degree of self interest in their motivation. Very practical way of working out why a relationship is working or not!

The evidence of a persons trustworthiness comes from how well their actions adhere to universal morality, and what that morality is. Trustworthiness came from where, where does it emanate from? If I fall will you catch me? What are you willing to sacrifice to save me? This translates to one of the highest of Human moral attributes... Valor.

can anyone trust anybody without vulenability
@thecowboy96986 жыл бұрын
Lillian Graham - to build trust with somebody, requires a certain amount of vulnerability, I would say. It doesn't mean that you have to reveal every little thing, and we're to build trust, but you do have to be willing to take take a calculated risk, because when you do take a chance on someone, you got to be prepared to possibly get hurt. But the one thing that in order to build trust with someone, you first have got to be honest. And the first person need to be honest with is yourself, because if you're not honest with yourself, and if you do not keep the word that you give to yourself, you're not going to be able to do it with another person. Human Relationships, whether they be platonic or romantic ones, require trust in order to last. And trust is one of those things that takes a long time to build a, and understandably so because this world is full of liars, and two-faced people. But it only takes seconds to break, and it can be broken simply by lying, whether it's and small things, or large things. In fact if you're not honest about small matters, you're not going to be honest about big ones, because you will already have built up a pattern of behavior within yourself. And if you genuinely care, and I mean genuinely care about the other person, you won't lie to them. You won't show them that kind of disrespect.

The Cowboy what if you don’t sense a bit of empathy from that person, what if you feel like you are likely to be judged or misunderstood or something
