I experienced 'Lower Back Pain' and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and a bulged disc at 40. Went through a bout of Sciatica around that time as well. In my experience exercise is the best cure for my back pain. First the exercises shown to me by a good physiotherapist and then move on to regular full body exercises and mobility work. I use the massage gun for therapeutic relief when muscles feel strained or pulled. Ultimately I've concluded a vast majority of 'Lower Back Pain' for most people is simply underutilized small muscles that are deep and forgotten about in day to day life. Then people can get into a cycle of less movement because of the 'bad back' which further weakens the muscles. Meds and therapies offer only temporary relief and fuel the money being made by 'healthcare'. I'm 54 now and experience zero back pain. I regularly go do a group fitness class and lift weights. Deadlift, deep ass to the grass squats, shoulder presses, etc my whole body is capable and I am contributing to my mobility 'Pension' for when I retire. But it all started by doing the physio exercises to 'wake up' my dormant back muscles. I know and appreciate that there are indeed cases of true incurable back pain but in all the people around me at my age and older all I see are cases of limited movement to properly engage the muscles that are causing issues. And I believe that even when there is an underlying reason for an issue, strengthening exercise is the best thing to do still. How often does anyone complain about their too strong muscles impeding their life?
