@@Glassessss you have to take in to account the value of the shoe before the customizing. Take the number they're reselling for then add your cost for doing the work.
@Glassessss4 жыл бұрын
@@daniellona9472 I did think about that. They aren't much, however there's a certain color scheme to them that the company refuses to make. They won't even create more of the shoe and I know if I color them right people would want it. I don't want to overly charge, but I know if I under sell them I'll never get an opportunity to sell them again so it's so hard to decide on a middle ground number. Just discovered your channel today I loved the advice! I’ve been doing customs for a few years now. I charged a friend $80 for some custom sketchers and she wanted to lowball me for the cost, and agreed to $60. I was actually choked bc I thought $80 was modest. I charge at least $100-$200 which I felt is good but this is more of a hobby than making it into a career. Appreciate the video! Cheers from Canada!

What's funny is that I was explaining this same concept of pricing to my 13 year old because he's got an artist flair and had I known at his age what I know now I definitely would've been an established artist myself. I wrote down time, materials and self worth as a few things to factor into pricing. I just wanted to point out the potential in his craft. Great video and I'm glad I found this channel 💯

Woot! Thx 😎 - Honestly if I never painted on a shoe, i’d think anything over 40$ is expensive. But that’s because it “looks” easy. Just like when someone draws an art piece or paints a room - others who never did it will judge. How I observed the response from talking to people so far is, like you say - practice and give yourself a rate. Don’t rip yourself off but don’t rip others off if your work and rep can’t back it up 😎😂

I dont think its ever fair of me to tell someone what they should charge. Artwork is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, you just need to find the clientele who can admire the hard work you put into it. I think the goal when creating a video such as this one is to give you tips and ideas to help up come with what you believe is fair pricing since there's no one size fits all. If it takes you 30 hours but someones only willing to pay $200, that might also mean that you just haven't found the right clientele. That dent mean the artwork isn't necessarily worth it though. Sometimes you have to raise the value of your brand as well before others can see that value in your work. People pay for names

You can go either way! You may have clients that already have the shoes and want to send em to you, and you may have some that want you to just handle everything
