What? No mention of Steve Carell's leaving The Office? I know many fans who stopped watching afterward.
@mikloowl48997 жыл бұрын
Yep, supporting characters they tried to make the lead and just did not work. Jim and Pam becoming even more stuck up and just flat out boring. The constant who's the new manager plot that got old before it started Allowing that awful Nelly character back Andy and Erin back and forth, they wanted a Jim and Pam take two but neither character had the charm going in. Then making Erin the office love interest for the bulk of the cast. I only watched it because I had gone that far, but with rewatches once Michael leaves I stop. Occasionally the actual finale which wasn;t terrible.
@THX114587 жыл бұрын
Agreed ! Yes - Michael was the core of the show and basically everyone else hung off him plot-wise. Jim, Pam & Dwight were close to being main stars but when you get down to it, they were really just supporting actors -which is why the series collapsed after he left. Also, what the American writers didn't understand is that the entire Pam & Jim thing was about the two of them going back and forth with the audience guessing whether they'd ever get together. The two dating undermined their whole plot relationship (although it wasn't too noticeable). But when the two got married and had kids, it completely sunk that sub plot. Their characters became entirely unbearable afterwards. (notice that Gervais was smart - when Tim & Dawn (Jim & Pam) got together he ended the series). I also agree the manager thing was ridiculous - I think the only reason anyone watch it was simply to see what big name star would be shoe-horned in that week. I'm sure you agree with me that the show should have ended with Michael transferring to the other branch, but they had a cash cow and had to find some novel way of continuing the series. And yeah, the rest of your points are true - I actually stopped watching after about the first six episodes in season eight and never saw any of nine - but I probably will see the remaining shows eventually since I'm curious about how bad they may be. I'll be sure to see the finale.

Andy, the manager carousel, Andy and Erin, and California were annoying but anytime that awful Nelly character was on screen it was a chore to get through. With the exception of a decent finale everything from Michael leaving was garbage and we could have done without. Especially the forced tension with Pam and Jim, such an emotionally weak couple.

Jesus people have no patience for development and plot. After the way this season kicked off the show really needed a relax period especially to be semi realistic. The point of the first half of this season was to build Negan up as a villain and explore the affect the season premiere had on each character and explain what happened to certain characters. I get criticism but most people are just bitching about important things within a story, If any bitching is to have about the series is it's bottle episodes that have been apart of the series for awhile.

Olicity is a nice scapegoat but the real reason why Arrow declined was because of The Flash. Once they brought that absurdity into a character driven show like Arrow it signaled the decline. All the shows must now be homogeneous and lighthearted with cheese ball ass villains like Damien Darhk and Cupid. Olicity would be a footnote if the CW hadn't decided to build a wacky DC style universe based off a character driven crime drama like Arrow.

Adam White They did have to kill both. Glenn was the heart of the group and he would've gotten his happy ending which was be with his family. In the walking dead, that's not how it is. This isn't Disney channel show. Not everyone gets a happy ending. It also had to be someone that would give Rick a motivation to kill Negan. Abraham was pretty much asking Negan to kill him. Abraham had to die because he was the strongest of the group. If anything happened to Rick, Abe would be the next in line for leader. He would've helped a lot in the fight against the saviors. In other words, he was way too badass to keep alive. Negan was being smart by killing him. I do agree that he should've gotten killed before or after they met Negan. Now his death is just overshadowed by Glenn's.

Eve was overhyped then went out with a whimper and the leviathans were just a rehash of the same friggin plot of pestilence in season 5 only shittier and smarmier. About the only season I liked was 8, because it was a breath of fresh air. Funny I quit GOT when they stupidly resurrected Jon Snow, with full of plot and characters behaving so out of character to justified the narrative, and of course, they totally raped Jon Snow as a character, because he has become the thing that he totally felt ashamed off and call off the duty that he always wanted to follow the Night Watch, all for because the producers wanted to please the Jon Snows fans that want Jon and Dany play house in the last season. And it seems that they would get what they wanted.

***** You don't even read the fucking books? Jon Snow felt ashamed of even becoming Lord of Winterfell, he never wanted the post, never desire it, and by that he never wanted to be King, this is the stupid idea of the producers fulfilling the stupid fantasies of the Jon Snow fans. Who cares about Jon Snow real motivations and desires if you have a good wish fulfilment fantasy? The fifth season had a little of fanfiction, that I can tolerate, but the sixth season become a full fanfiction to please a bunch of idiots.

It wouldn't have stopped me from continuing if it had happened in that "super special 90 minute finale" rather than making everyone wait until the next season. That was such a blatant middle finger to fans it was like AMC simultaneously saying "Hey we literally have to have cliffhangers because we are worried about how boring and repetitive the character arcs and dialogue has become" and "fuck you, we know you'll still watch the show no matter what". I stuck around to see Glenn and Abraham get bashed and yet despite them being literally my 2 favorite characters, I felt nothing due to the long ass wait, blatant emotional manipulation, and the thought in the back of my mind that this is just going to be another villain arc that will end the same way it always does after we have a bunch of pointless new characters forced on us only to be immediately killed like any viewer has an emotional stake in them. Not sure I get that. Is it just because there are people who think, since Oliver and (as they call her on the show) Laurel (in the comics she is Dinah, she goes by her middle name on the show for some weird reason, guess the same reason the city was originally called Starling instead of Star) are together in the comics they have to be together on the show and Felicity is a threat to that? I really don't see it that way. I'm an avid comic book reader but I don't think the shows or movies have to be that slavish to the books. If they want to try out different pairings they should. Of course I also don't care about that part anyway, as I watch them for the superhero stuff so the romantic subplots are of no real interest to me. That said I wish "Legends of Tomorrow" had done more Atom/Hawkgirl stuff because I would've loved for them to meet a possible future son of theirs who had bird wings and shrinking powers, like their take on Blue Jay from Justice League Europe. :)
@GeneralSteelflex8 жыл бұрын
My deep-seated hatred for Olicity has nothing to do with Black Canary (though I would rather that part of the show be more like the comics). It has to do with the fact that the romance between the two of them has become the main focus of the show (at least it was last time I watched). All through Season 3, I was bashing my head against the wall from how much a show I loved had gone downhill, all because of this undo importance given to fucking Felicity and their forced as all fuck romance. I don't have a problem with romance in general, but not when it interferes with the rest of the product like this (the first two seasons I think did a great job of keeping a good balance). A few episodes undo Season 4 showed that the Olicity train wasn't stopping any time soon, so I just decided to abandon the show. I couldn't take it anymore. It's obvious from watching at least the first season that the writers intended Laurel to be Oliver's true love. But then I guess at some point between Seasons 2 and 3, they went and got themselves lobotomies for fun and decided pandering to the retarded ass shippers online, would be a great idea And again, I wouldn't give a fuck if it didn't become the central focus of the show, and completely wreck everything else. FUCK!

I thought the whole family thing was a mistake that drug season 6 down. Season 7 felt like a return to form.

people didn't stop watching the walking dead because it was sick, it was mostly because Glenn died
@akenn796 жыл бұрын
I stopped watching because they just kept repeating storylines. First the Governor, then Terminus, then Alexandria. After hearing about Glen's death and all I did catch the beginning of that episode but it was so maudlin and cartoonishly over the top I haven't caught a second since then
@larrylewis5506 жыл бұрын
I quit after the season finale just before Glenn died. Ending it on a cliff hanger was so cheap and sleazy, it was glaringly obvious that the show was no longer about quality (hadn't been for some time at that point, but I was holding on to hope) it was about cheap gimmicks to try desperately to cling to its audience.

Absolutely not for me. A lot of people knew it was coming, I watched maybe 6 more epsiodes... it was the tiger for me. All boring and same old same old.
@darenridgeway14816 жыл бұрын
Yeah Glenn's death did it for me too. I expected it due to his death in the comic, but in the tv show it was just kind of pointless. In the comics it's Glenn's death that transforms Maggie from kind of a victim into a leader and major force... but on the show she was already a strong, central character making it just a middle finger to all the fans after the whole Dumpster fiasco the season before. As it was just felt like the producers were Trolling me... Huh... I think I'm still salty about this one... so I'll stop now, heh.

Many people (including me) quit The Walking Dead when that blonde chick got shot in that hospital where she was forced to work. Another chick's death: the one who got murdered by the lockers in Under The Dome. She was about the only actually interesting person in that show. The show already was getting worse, but that moment, and the very obvious way that she got replaced by someone else? Screw that! And you showed Game Of Thrones; many people ragequit indeed at the Red Wedding, others when Stannis burned his daughter and a LOT when Sansa got raped. But I do think many did decide to pick it up again afterwards, because many people were like: "No, THIS time Got REALLY went too far! THIS time I REALLY am quitting!!!"

If you switched off of the walking dead because of the season 7 premiere being brutal, then why the fuck are you watching a zombie show?
@vampenga92778 жыл бұрын
It wasn't because of it being brutal people left because of just how far stretched out the Neegan reveal was. Not to mention the first kill he does is a FUCKING SEASON CLIFFHANGER! Meaning you had to wait months to find out who's brains are now on the ground. That's just a dick move.
@comicsmakenosense8 жыл бұрын
Natures Degenerate i bailed at terminus. zombies are like wild animals. they were acting on instinct. once it went to people being cruel to other people, there was a mean spiritedness to the show that turned me off. it really wasn't so much a zombie show at that point. just personal taste.
@Vandalle.8 жыл бұрын
No, what a daft comment, people stopped watching after the season premiere so the reason was not the fact that they made you wait months to find out who it was, it is obviously something that happened in that episode, and like he said anyone who's watched the walking dead for 6 seasons and turns off after one brutal episode is a fucking idiot
@vampenga92778 жыл бұрын
The wait still could have played into it because you have people that tuned in just to see the brutality of it that aren't normal viewers since it's a pivotal moment in the comics. Then you have people who watched the episode and might've found it to just be senseless and violence for violence's sake. And even still you can have people that stuck around but found the show had no direction once Neegan stepped in and the stories weren't as enticing.
@flintrocks8 жыл бұрын
Thats not why people stopped watching. Its as the man said - its because they used very manipulative story telling, and used brutality for the sake of brutality. We didnt need to see Abrahams death, thats not what happens in the comic. They just did it to shock and disturb us. Glenn being the big reveal would have been fine, they didnt need to torture the shit out of the viewers. Watching that premiere was one of the most agonizing pieces of television I have ever watched. It made me feel sick to my stomach, filled me with hopelessness. Not an enjoyable experience. I haven't quit watching the show, but i have certainly taken a step back and will never think of the show the same

Before the death of Brian even happened, the seasons episode descriptions had him as a main character later on. As LewiTML stated, it was always planned. From the episode when Stewie uses the time machine to go into the future and buy the toy early it was blatantly obvious that they'd revive him by using that time machine from Stewies past self. People that actually thought he was perma-dead are just stupid.

For me it was halfway through season 8 when Sam, The Special Snowflake got chosen for the Trials or whatever. I got so tired of everything being about saving poor tortured Sam and occasionally Castiel and that other guy who drives the car, whatshisname again? I went from loving Sam, and sympathizing with his character even when he was kind of a jerk (like in season 4) until everything was all about him from the end of season 5 onward. Before it was more balanced and I heard the show has found that balance again, but at this point I no longer care.
@abigailcarroll69828 жыл бұрын
happychaosofthenorth I don't remember much of S9, but I think I hated it. The finale was heart stopping (Dean became a demon). Then they took an awesome plot potential and the promise of "The Year of the Demon" and cleaned him in 3 episodes. S10 sucked. Then they literally (somehow) killed Death. S11 was starting to look good, then they flipped the bird and started the trash fire again. My friends who still watch tell me it's OK but not really. Apparently Lucifer got a girl pregnant, so I think I'll stay gone
@NoJusticeNoPeace8 жыл бұрын
The thing about Supernatural is it's _extremely_ uneven. There have been multiple times I was tempted to give it up, like virtually all of season 7, but it's always come through and surprised me. The current season where Lucifer feels more like a monster-of-the-week than the single most powerful entity currently existing in the Universe (and that serious WTF mid-season finale where the president of the USA has just two bodyguards and the Winchesters allow themselves to be captured instead of running away because... reasons) might have done it for me at long last, but I've felt that way before (death of Charlie, anyone?) and had them pull it out of the fire and salvage something worth watching again.
@Katosepe8 жыл бұрын
I'd go as early as Season 6. The show was originally intended to have 5 seasons and the end of season 5 totally felt like a finale... and then they kept going. They explained it away as the second five-season-arc, like a sequel series, but it always felt weird to us. My wife and I stuck it out about halfway through season 6 and then stopped.

Lost, of course. But my most recent: Once Upon a Time. The fact that it's broken it's own rules, just written off characters as if they never existed, pulled cheap tricks/flash in the pan characters just to serve as fan service bait (literally fan service, as if youre a fan of x character) and the insulting way it reuses it's old material. LOST had more logical depth, and that's really sad. And considering these are the writers of LOST, I'm not surprised. It too, was an amazing series until it got so frustrating and pointlessly annoying to watch most people were happy it ended. Can't wait for OUAT to end, too.

All the episodes from seasons 11 or 12 of "The Simpsons" have aged better than we expected, and "Saddlestore Galactica" is a classic, I was also disoriented by this episode but then it was obvious that it was deliberately annoying, it was meant to upset the fans who were constantly complaining on the Internet about how unrealistic and cartoonish the show became. Just before the jockeys, you had Marge rolling on the floor laughing hysterically and Moe's heart beating like in a Looney Tunes' cartoon, this was an 'experimental' take on the fans' obsessions with Simpsons' level of realism, that's why there's a moment where Homer asks people if anyone is interested in the opinion of the Comic Book Guy.As a fan, I avoided this episode for years but when I watched it again, I realized how brilliant it was.

i was surprised that, not in the video nor the comment, no one mentionned the 100. They killed off lexa, lost lot of viewer, and two episode later, they killed lincoln, just to lose even more viewer. personally, i still follow the show

No, it's because the show is bad. After using Negan as bait for so long, they realize there is no need to watch anymore.
@Faillord17 жыл бұрын
Negan for me was the reason to like the show more, after a few seasons of just telling the story from too many perspectives instead of being in a cohesive story like it is now and was up until season 4. They teased the death of Glenn before and everybody complained they didn't follow through and now they are upset because they did... that doesn't make sense. From the second half of season 6, TWD did way better in my opinion, but maybe thats just me.
@macho101017 жыл бұрын
People are mad about Negan? Dafuq? The moment he stepped outside of the RV my heart almost gave up because of the amount of awesomeness.. Negan is what the Walking dead always needed..

@acenace248 жыл бұрын
I don't watch it anymore and this may have been one of the reasons I stopped. The show itself was becoming a bit stale/repetitive, but now I remember thinking it was the dumbest thing to do (It wasn't like the actor doing his voice quit or something since Seth MacFarlane was the one who played multiple characters including Brian) for no real reason. That and all the backlash from fans and the immediate caving by the show just left a bitter taste in my mouth.
@psychonormal918 жыл бұрын
I honestly think Brian's death was just a publicity stunt meant to boost his popularity. I remember he was actually hated by a good chunk of the fandom since he was reduced to a political mouthpiece for Seth's beliefs. But then he 'died' and suddenly everyone missed him and ignored how preachy he could get at times.

Is not a bad episode (specially considering it was witten by Tim Long, responsible for the infamous "Lisa goes Gaga"), just ridiculous, but most of the season 11 was, so... I rage quitted in late season 15 when the latin-american dub actors were fired over a syndicate (salary) dispute and their voices were replaced by others with a questionable quality making the show even more unbearable.

People haven't quit The Walking Dead. The Negan episode was the high water mark for its rating because it's hype had penetrated pop culture. After it, the show settled back into it core fans ratings. It's still going strong as the number one cable based show.

X-Files weren't in the best shape even prior to Mulder's disappearance. If anything I was intrigued by the twist. Well, the idea of replacing Mulder was doomed from the start, because let's face it, he was holding the show together. But Doggett covering for him for one season or so and then being demoted to a secondary character could have worked to show's advantage. A shame that Duchovny quit for good.

I agree. Season 7 was not so good, but I actually liked season 8 with its twists, including Mulder coming and going. And Doggett was actually good, not as a total replacement, but as a complement (but supersoldiers... meh...). Then season 9 was crap, besides the excellent final episodes. Sadly we are still waiting for a proper follow (the second movie and season 10 were really missed opportunities).

The number of fans who left after Laurel's death probably wasn't large enough to warrant a mention. Which I kinda expected. Comic book fans just don't want to admit that while they were part of the audience, they were never the majority, and quite frankly, the Flarrowverse makes no claim whatsoever to follow canon on any of it's shows, but instead opting to reference the comics, so demanding they do so makes no sense.

No... No it isn't. The entire season was already planned, and made. The preceding episode / start of the episode (can't remember), shows Stewie using his time machine to go slightly into the future (to Christmas), which he had yet to do, which was a clear move to revive Brian after his death. A
