It's interesting how we can tell when "something is going to give". I know that feeling. Overall a pretty easy job. And you had some sunshine too. Nice.

Absolutely Wyatt I have to agree ... it was a lovely day unfortunately we are not getting many days like it ☹️😉... cheers buddy 👍👍👍

That wheel bearing bolt is extremely tight, I've never managed to fully tighten one, it feels like something is going to strip. Good video mate
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
Mechanic Matt hello mate Yeap I know the bolts has to stretch a bit but 180° feels way too much cheer 👍👍👍
@goranh64894 жыл бұрын
Good job mate! I would like to add that the rear brake caliper bolts on VAG are also torque to yield (as the wheel bearing bolt was) and should also be replaced. With that said you may not even need to remove the brake caliper carrier, at least not on my Audi with ventilated discs in the rear, the discs was possible to get off and then on again with the brake caliper carrier still in place.

Wow.... that was tight, kept waiting for the breaker bar to snap an ear off... Jeezz Igor...Good job mate..

Coaxiale coil springs...spline drive bolts...angle torque on a wheel bearing/hub. Every day a school day! Can be very tricky sometimes to localize what quadrant the noise is emminating from. Once again...good work Igor. Cheers M8
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree Ian I pretty much learn something new everyday... Tricky indeed, also having winter tyres didn't help , whatever make he has on it now didn't pass my tyre noise quality control 😂😂😂cheers mate 👍👍👍

I haven't been brave enough to get 180. As you said your waiting for something to break / strip. Good work. 👍
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
The same here mate 😊 I know the bolt has got to stretch but 150° feels more than adequate ... cheers 👍👍👍

i expect this skoda has been sold/scrapped by now, but why did it have 2x sets of REAR coil springs ?

I hate those M18 bolts, best thing I got was a 3/4 drive M18 socket, takes away the fear of the 1/2 breaker bar giving up! Like you put in the comment, pushing down with an axle stand supporting helps as well, or at least it does for me! 👍🏻
@CarsExposed4 жыл бұрын
Kenny Grant absolutely mate I recently bought a 3/4 breaker just in case I do another one of this wheel bearing 😊, I didn’t look into getting a 3/4 M18 socket but I have an adaptor maybe that should be ok ... cheers 👍👍👍

How's she goin'? The sounds of that bearing sure pointed to a rear bearing to me. The growl gave it away!!! That axle bolt isn't going to fall out that's for sure!!! It was as tight as an Irish dart player!!! LOL It sure looked like your strong arm was about to break when you decided to stop at 150!!! Smart play!!! Those were nice springs though!!! Thanks for posting and take care!!!

Nice video. That axle-bolt is a tough one. Remember my High Torque M18 Milwaukee did non manage to loosen it on my mothers Audi. Same torque specifications.

Krille's Garage oh yeah I remember mate ... Is a tough bolt indeed I don’t think any impact gun would get it out, the torque is crazy ... cheers mate 👍👍👍👍

When bearings go the turning to put the weight of the vehicle to one side then the other is one of the oldest tests but is the easiest

Would yo recommend replacing both of them ?
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
Kim Highfield personally no as it isn’t something that will change the geometry of the suspension, here in Uk as we drive on the left side of the road the left bearing tends to fail more often as drivers hit the curb when turning or parking ... Perhaps I would suggest changing both but as a preventive maintenance ... cheers 👍👍👍
