Lovin' this build series. Lots of experimentation, but always with the aim of efficiency. This looks good, don't gotta be perfekt and take forever. It takes forever anyway. :-) Gonna be a good daily driver when done. Not some showroom queen nobody can touch.

Nice - you going to do Fluid Film or something like it later? I'm thinking Blaster Shield in the rockers and multi metal sections once I get mine to the running point.

Dude, your channel is great! And I think you’re doing great work, inspiring all of us with a rusty bus. What do you use to make your small cuts, like you did around the windows? Thanks.
@Vangabonders Жыл бұрын
I use a regular cut off wheel and then square out the edges with a hand file. It’s difficult to make a rectangular cut in such a small area with any kind of cut off disc so the hand file really helps

sweet man, that top had section does anyone have a quality version of that piece if i didnt want to try and fab it like you?
@Vangabonders Жыл бұрын
It’s a very common replacement part so I think most places sell it, but if you want a quality replacement top hat I would go with Alan Schofield

@@Vangabonders thanks! i have a few parts from them as well, wish they were in the usa!!! its the best metal shop for a bus by far it seems

Who would you recommend for getting parts for the body?
@Vangabonders Жыл бұрын
You can find just about any body panel at Heritage Parts Center and if you use my code VANGABONDERS10 at checkout you'll get 10% off your order and it helps to support the channel 👍 bit.ly/vangabonders_heritage_parts_centre

Nice job, glad i found your channel since my bus is gonna need some serious panel restoration in the future. I’m new to bodywork but know my way around a welder at least. My question is when you weld a panel in do you butt/point weld only or do you weld a seam all the way around?

Unless those rubber plugs have a purpose why drill holes for them to allow water intrusion later ?
@Vangabonders Жыл бұрын
They allow access to the middle rocker and outer rocker in order to be able to use some kind of cavity protection such as waxoil. Basically service points that no one ever uses, causing the rockers to rust out on these typically
