It is sad. I went through the same attempted murder but he strangled me almost to death, I passed out and peed myself, I had some little blood in my troat and my eyes was full of petechias... He only got 11 MONTHS! 11 years is already great but now she is disabled ! Is there no help, I mean if she complain and sue, must he not pay her something as she will remain disabled ? Sad

@@shaysarn2235 Oh so this happened while she already was homeless. I thought that this happened before and leads to her being in the streets. Yes USA have not much social help in general. If you loose your work you can quickly loose all! I think US citizen dont like the social in their politics but it is one country in all the occidental countries that needs it the most. If ppl would only start voting different then maybe things could change a bit for the most vulnerable. 😔 Until then, it will continue to be hard for all the poor and disabled.

@@shaysarn2235 But sorry another thing. Does the lawyers are not taking like a 30% payed by what they sue for and so the person does not have to pay the lawyer. Because this is exactly what happen with car accident when you sue someone.

I know this girl from 12th ave and mountain view. We use to get high off pills for a few years together and she would always ride with me. She was my friend and i never treated her fucked up. After jail again, i got sober over 6 months ago. I always wondered if she was still alive knowing her condition and being on 27th and Northern which is extremely dangerous. Theres nothing i could ever say to her to change her mind about getting clean, shes extremely depressed from her disability and sees no point in getting help. Bless her soul...

I was just recently housed after many years and what I can tell you about staying on the streets is that folks end up having PTSD and aside from the fact that they've been in the worst and most misunderstood and underrepresented minority possible with the insane amount of derogatory treatment. The feeling of being subhuman is overwhelming and you wind up becoming very guarded and untrusting of others while learning to only rely on yourself. In my case I was offered a brand newly built one bedroom apartment in a big building in Los Angeles. When I was housed last I had a long time partner (26 yrs) and my children were young adults I still had all of my vision and was able to drive etc. Now I am legally blind, single and living alone and not yet receiving any disability or SSI my children are doing fine out on their own. Instead of constantly being in survival mode and figuring things out as they came with a partner now my worries have shifted to completely different things and in a lot of ways I feel more scared and vulnerable than in the streets. Now I have accountability expectations from others and a lot of decisions being made for me by caseworkers etc. It's a huge adjustment from one day living in a parking lot in a broken van to being in a nice apartment with AC , new fridge all that, I was provided furniture a TV etc. And I was really nervous and for good reason because change is hard and scary. Most if us don't have the self esteem and/or confidence we did before we became unhoused and it feels really weird being safe and being able to shut and lock the door behind me and not answer the door if I don't want to. I hope this makes sense. Being safe right now is for some reason scarier than when I was unsafe.

Evil is very opportunistic. Many of my friends, when I went through real bad depression, suddenly turned on me. They seen me in a weak state and they changed. I leaned a lot about many friends and family members through my hard time. I’m strong again now, but those people aren’t part of my life anymore. Evil always preys on the weak- it’s sick!

It's so sad to see this precious young lady out there in the streets and dealing with her addiction which has her trapped. People think it's easy to just stop and get shelter but the drug has chains on them we can't see. She's beautiful but she doesn't see how she can live a regular life anymore. It's normal for her to be this way and the danger she's in. That's really bad when you are led down a road so horrific and still can't get out of the living nightmare! God bless her and keep her safe wherever she goes.

Her story is horrifying, and I cannot imagine how her family feels seeing her CHOOSING this lifestyle and her addiction over love and her children. @@pandastylearmy5938 that is bullshit. Addiction is the lack of EASY CHOICES and lack of willpower to make them.Of course, no one wakes up and says " heyI think I will go pick up a soul sucking habit today!" . Having said that you CAN choose NOT to be addicted, to go to the places or the people that can help and make the HARD CHOICES TO CHANGE ABD STICK TO THEM. People choose sober life EVERY DAY and if that is not taken does not in any way negate the fact that taking drugs IS A CHOICE and losing everything over drugs IS A CHOICE, and deciding not to let addiction make your choices for you IS A CHOICE. Your theory sounds kind and compassionate but in reality just allows people who WILL NOT DO THE HARD WORK OF GETTING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER an excuse for their continued bad behavior and quite frankly is one reason people STAY addicted because they have people making their ridiculous argument for them. I say this as someone who has loved, almost lost, and thankfully watched someone I care for more than my own life pull themselves out of it, struggling, losing sleep, crawling out of their skin, and causing harm to their life and relationships that they will have to work to repair for years to come. So you need to revise your statement to be true. ADDICTION IS THE LACK OF EASY CHOICES, PERIOD

@darlamccracken4062 Yes it is important to clarify in this way. Because if it wasn't a choice than the ones who chose to not be consumed by it are not being given the credit they deserve for making a hard choice to get clean. My Mom told me when I was a little girl and I asked her about drug addiction that a way to sum it up is "Whatever drug they are addicted to is now God to them". Many will lose everything because of the addiction including their children and lives".

Disability takes quite awhile to get on. You need a phone to make calls but homeless people cannot keep phones very long until they get stolen. Even when she gets disability it will most likely be partial disability which would be a small amount. Not anywhere near enough to pay rent. Section 8 also has a waiting list that is years long.
