Well said, Hera. You can take a girl out of the rebellion but you can’t take rebellion out of the girl.

3:20 it is extremely frustrating. The senator was also being unnecessarily cold hearted. He’s not wrong that Hera does want to try and find Ezra. He was like a son to her. She raised him from the ages of 14 to 19 and definitely sees him as a son. So of course she has hope that he’s alive. But its frustrating that the senator questions her integrity by implying that she would lie to the republic to use its resource for her personal gain. She has given so much and has been so loyal to the rebellion and the republic and yet they still question her intentions.

I think its going to transpire that this senator is actively supporting the imperials.

He probably doesn't believe it, he's just trying to discredit her efforts as much as he can, so he can appease his constituents and stay in office. #CountDookuWasRight

There is another option. Walking away without theatre is an option when the long term rate of return was less than the cost of pain & suffering. For me, the entity was a non-profit volunteer organization where the "fate of the galaxy" was not at stake. In the end, I silently had my "told you so" moment. Since my faction of that organization taught the rest "how to paint the fence" (Huckleberry Fin reference), the organization prospered. As an epilogue, the organization tried to recruit me back; however, I declined. As a follow-up segment, perhaps one on "burning bridges" and how to make peace with austere decisions.

This episode could not have come at a better time for me. Unfortunately, intense and divisive power struggles and power abuse happens in every field, and this helped me realize that my colleagues and I are not alone. Thank you, Jono - many positive thoughts for you, your family, and all those things important to you!

I felt a lot of this in the education system. There is so much that I wish I could go against while working, but I felt I didn't have the experience, resources, and more knowledge into doing something about it. So I just stuck to teaching the way they wanted because it was my job, which could support any future family I may have. Though I quit and decided my best way to tackle it is through my writing.

Being stuck in systems where a great majority of ppl is actually aware that things aren't working, but you need to really break it an do it all over to get anything fixed, is crippling! Sometimes the only way to proceed, is to build a new approach and raise it till enough ppl see results to say "you know what? This is what our regular approach should be". Even then, time can grind away on it. People are simply not made for overly de-personalized context. The achievements are surprisingly often not actually worth it and the damage is frequently incredibly unseen and underestimated. We're feeling these things more and more, now that ppl are more enabled than ever to access knowledge and even professional input at any time and in any volume that works for them. Although it does us some good to have challenges and learn to sit with conflict, too. But it may be time to have way more flexibility in e.g. which ppl need a lot of guidance and which need a minimum and maximum of freedom to unfold their potentials. One solution is no enough!

You should do Ahsoka and Sabine! There’s a lot to dissect between the two of them. It’s always rough when you and upper management don’t see eye to eye. I used to fight every battle because I always had to prove I was right but I’ve learned that even if I am right it’s not worth the headache and stress. There’s not enough satisfaction at the end to outweigh all the effort it takes to push back. I’ve really learned to be more picky with the battles I fight and it’s helped so much.

I absolutely loved Ahsoka. One of the things i thought you'd touch up on was the part where Ezra is building a light saber and Huyang says in front of Sabine "the relationship between master and apprentice is as challenging as it is meaningful". To me, in that moment Sabine realizes what her relationship with Ahsoka means. The part after this when Huyang explains the purge on Mandalore, the anguish and sadness that must be eating at Sabine. I think most of Episode 8 could be analyzed from a therapist perspective. From Morgan's desire to return Dathomere to it's former glory, to Sabine and Ahsoka and the intricacies shown, Sabines growth, Ahsoka the leader, etc. You do an amazing job. On this and on Cinema Therapy. Thank you for all that you do!

"Life is not like Star Wars". Indeed, and the youtube channel Generation Tech pointed out something very pertinent. Of course, as a viewer of a TV series full of tropes we kinda guess that the senator is probably working for imperials and everything. But when that senator first shots down Hera's request, instead of calling his competence into question, she questions his loyalty. And this is a very "proto-fascistic" way of thinking. When authority figures aren't listening, we can rebel, we can revolt. We can question systems and question the competence of those that are in power in that system, but when we question "loyalty" and call anyone that has a different policy or has different interests than our "in-group" "traitors", this can lead to dangerous things. This is a crucial difference we see in progressive movements of protest, vs right-wing movements of protests. The progressive call the whole system into question, and can even promote the abolition of social classes, but the right-wing ones call those they protest against "traitors", which personnalise the conflicts and essentialise their factions.

I’ve had this happen on multiple occasions. Two were really life changing. First one, I was working with ESE middle schoolers as a para professional with absolutely no experience or credentials (which is an issue itself that they even put me in that position) I started to realize that some of the adults were blatantly abusing and neglecting some of the kids, sometimes even physical abuse. I tried everything I could to report it and just got talked down to every time, and eventually those same adults began to bully me because they knew I was trying to report them. After a while I had to quit because I had to think about my own emotional well-being (I was so miserable) and 2 years later the “ring leader” was caught on camera kicking a child in the back. In another instance I worked at a preschool, again no experience but I was wrapping up a degree in early childhood development and education. Nothing was being done correctly in this facility. Kids were not developing at the pace they should have been because everything was just wrong and disorganized, not to mention the facility wasn’t following guidelines such as child to teacher ratios. I tried to make suggestions without undermining anyone, and was basically told that my degree meant nothing, that the people teaching me didn’t matter when compared to years of actual experience with children (all my professors were previously childcare workers, many of them for much longer than even the facility manager, and all my textbooks were written by experts). I literally only lasted 3 months at that job before I just had to quit. I couldn’t handle it.

12:20 Back in high school, which finished just a few months ago, there were two instances where I stepped up as an 18 year old who wanted to advocate for my peers. The first instance happened, in English class when my teacher, who we’ll call Gandalf, he told us that because there had been people using ChatGPT or cheating in other manners that they had to crack down and check their papers one by one or get us to answer questions related to the assessment to check if the work was indeed our own. My peers were not happy about this. I also felt a little heart because I misunderstood something Gandalf said which was in relation to assignments looking too good to be true and resolved it. After that a day or two later I went to our head of department, who we’ll call Steve because he loved Captain America. I went to Steve and made it clear that I was talking to him as an adult and as an advocate for my peers and told him that there were people in my class who were complaining about the action that he took and I clarified what those two options were and we finished that conversation feeling understood by each other. Gandalf approached me about it, because we were close due to him being my teacher and something of a mentor in year 7 and I told him that I wanted to go to the source because I wanted to understand where he was coming from. The second instance happened before dress up day about a week later. We got Barbie as the majority choice for dressing up as a group, because we were year 12s and our year manager who we’ll call Leia because she’s kind of like her in some ways. I was annoyed by the choice for about a few minutes and then I decided to go through with it. Once again, my classmates complained about the choice again so I sent their complaints to Leia and she was hurt by it, because when she messaged the group she seemed upset that we were divided over this and that we weren’t in line with what she wanted for us and I felt bad because I initiated that action and expressed those complaints so I apologised to her and she said that everything was fine and that she was hurt. What those two instances taught me was that sometimes when we advocate for our peers it works out and we reach an understanding or an agreement, other times it can be hurtful, so after that I decided to stop advocating for people who led me to hurt Leia and I never had to. I am grateful to Gandalf, Steve and Leia for their patience and understanding towards me but it could have gone south. So I guess we should be careful about how and when we speak our concerns or complaints. That’s what I learned from those experiences

Thank you for another great episode. Well, this is always tricky. At my work our boss is mostly ok but sometimes, when he has a bad day he doesn't really want to listen and wants the things his way, even if they are not right. It is always better to deal with him face to face and try to discuss the matter. But depending on his mood, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Then I usually try to wait a couple of days and come back to it or do it his way and wait for him to see that it is not working well. He usually changes his mind but I never actually said: I told you. I don't consider it nice to do so. As one of my colleagues sais, we have to be bigger than our ego.

Lol you calling Ziono a tool made me so happy. He sucks to the highesr degree. I also like how Herra, at least initially, doesn’t get out of this scott free and gets caught even with people like Captain Reva who’s an OG by the way backing her up. I feel like she handled the exchange in the court fairly well. Though she should’ve gotten more of the pictures from Huyang. Another part of this I find interesting that I don’t see a lot of people mention is Carson’s and Ziono’s exchange about Mandalore. Carson knows almost as well as Herra how real the imperial threat is. He’s been going on about it sibce Mando s2 and he went as far as getting the freaking Mandalorians involved. He’s in a great position now. He has Din hunting remnants and Bo Katan and the other Mandos on decent terms with him. Right now them and the remaining jedi are the best chance the new republic has at defeating Thrawn. But I digress. Ziono’s comments are so irking because we know they’re not true. We know Gideon was working in coordination with the other members of the shadow council. So yeah the new republic are about to eat their words.

Interesting topic! Your other video on Ahsoka and Anakin's student-mentor relationship in the show was also amazing. Some other (animated) shows you could therapize are: 1. The Owl House (Luz, Eda, and King as a found family trope, Lumity as a relationship, Hunter, Willow) 2. RWBY (Ruby's journey of self and radical acceptance throughout the series, Jaune trying to play the hero and failing, Blake's arc) 3. The Legend of Korra (Korra's struggle to learn airbending in Book 1, and her trauma arc in Book 4) 4. Gravity Falls (Stanley and Ford, Mabel and Dipper, Lil Gideon, Dipper's crush on Wendy)

It is both straining. When you don't feel heard by authority or when you constantly are questioned in your position of authority. :'D In short: Life is quite complex and bigger scales of human cooperation only work, when all people actually care to give each other room. Even then, there'll be times where you WANT to cooperate, but you cannot reconcile both perspectives on the "how" and eventually, you may still have to go different ways and at worst, even oppose each other in some regards and let life decide, which pathway presents itself as the one that works. We often frame it ask if there's "a right way". But in reality, not only are there plenty of ways, each with a different price to pay, but also: quite frequently the difference between success and failure ARE actually beyond our control. There are too many variables and unforeseeable things. This is all the more, why mutual respect throughout is so important. Because we never know when we'll be on the side of ending up with the worse outcomes. And in best case, we pick up the pieces and see how we can proceed together from there. Or help each other to proceed into our respective directions. Frankly, I do not support the idea that "being right" warrants our cruelty, disrespect or dismissal of others. :'3 We still have to answer for those things, if that's how we got our results.

You should definitely do the Obi-Wan Kenobi series next!! Or a Phycology of a Hero about Obi-Wan Kenobi on cinema therapy! Because personally Obi-Wan Kenobi has ALWAYS been my favorite Star Wars Character ever!! He is such an important and very interesting Character to Star Wars Universe as a Whole! And I personally and unashamefully LOVE the Obi-Wan Kenobi series!! I love how it explores PTSD & how a teacher or a mentor tries to cope with feeling the responsibility of his student's fall into darkness! I also love how it explores how a devoted follower of a religion copes with loosing their faith and eventually finding the strength to believe in their faith again!

At 3:02 Hera should have asked the Senators if she can be excused to the bathroom instead of taking the kick the dog bait from Senator Xinio, then he would not have almost hired her and used that to prevent the other Senators to think that Hera is trying get Ezra back. This is what I learned from last year, when contention is almost at this boiling point, just ask to be excused to the restroom, walk away, and go outside to calm down.

If an authority figure doesn't listen & it's not viable to push back 1) the outcome becomes their responsibility b/c it's THEIR call and 2) keep a written record of their decision and the disagreement where possible. You need to protect yourself if things go wrong. If the authority figure happens to be right, then at least you learn something!

I do recommend the channel generation tech, good politcial and cultural analysis of star wars They had several takes on this that were interesting, including that a general overruling the political body put in place to govern them is reminiscent of the empire which is why some of the councellors are not on her side, especially as she often hits back with, i was fighting so my opinion means more than yours. Some of these peopke may have been fighting the empire in their own way, not everything is about who shot blasters. Ziono, eh.

If you want something to therapize, my favorite story of overcoming adversity is Zombieland Saga, the touching tale of a young girl who dreams of becoming a singing idol and bringing joy to the masses. To reach her dreams she must overcome terrible set-backs. And then there are zombies. That makes things more difficult. It's actually a comedy. Trust me. I have an honest face.

I guess it'S not completely comparable, but I had a few very similar "arguments" with teachers in school (mostly primary). Every of these times it was just about some biological fact. They stated sth I knew was wrong, It told them so, they did not listen or take me seriously. And it NAGGED me. They made it seem like I was just wanting to be know-it-all, of wanting to brag. It really was not. It just annoyed me so much that there was this fact that I knew was wrong told to my peers who believed it. (I still find situations like these hard sometimes. It's not about me, I just want the facts to be right, no matter who would manage to do that) I would then take the source of my knowledge to class and show the teacher. Most likely not very mature I guess, I was only in primary school (exept for one incident I remeber well because there was an obvious mutual dislike between and teacher in highschool). As an example, a teacher said that adult fire salamander (European species) females return to water because their larvae are aquatic (true) but also stated that the adults were good swimmers: wrong. They actually are bad at it and have to be cautious not to drown when releasing the youngsters into the water. I did as told and this teacher (the ONLY one) actually had a good look at my source and then told the class that indeed I had been right and that it was nice to have learned sth. new. The others either did not even look, just laughed at me, said the topic was over period or stated they had never told that wrong thing to begin with. That's my humble experience as kid. If you can even compare it. For later, I don't know. I can't really remember having been in such a conflictual situation with an authority figure. At work me bosses were all very kind and "flat-hierarchy" like hearing every one out. And way more than some teachers (as I guess looking back). With my mum, yeah, (still a kid though) I would just ignore her the one or the other time when I did not hold her judgement at all. But I never got caught. Later my mental health was going worse in many ways, including that anything just happened to me and I was scared and week and helpless and resumed to being played like a puppet like as if my "fire" had been extinguished. (Exept for my eating disorder, makink that one all the stronger because I felt like it was the very last thing that belonged to me and that I would not let them take from me... maybe absurd, but that's really how it felt)

Good soldiers follow orders, which is what Hera should've done. That, or she should've allowed Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano talk to the Senate instead; her prestigious rank and Jedi training would allow diplomacy with the senators to be easier, and convincing them would be far easier if a Jedi who can sense the Force says something is wrong.

My biggest gripe with the sequel trilogy, how would they go through the same mistake after everything they have went through caused by the same antagonist. And you can say even for the things that happened before as well. Sadly Disney really wants original Era stories like Mando and Ahsoka to connect with the sequels.😁
