I appreciate the video. Just want to correct one thing you said. A “total” hysterectomy refers to removal of the uterus and cervix. A “partial” means uterus only, with cervix remaining. A hysterectomy has nothing to do with the ovaries. So, a “total” doesn’t mean ovaries and uterus. Some women do have their ovaries and/or tubes removed, but those are considered separate procedures technically.

I'm in my late 70's and had a total robotic assisted vaginal hysterectomy 8 weeks ago. It's been a rough painful journey. Some days I'm in a lot of pain. The pain moves from the inside of my abdomen one day to my incessions the next. Even after 8 weeks, most mornings I'm nauseous. I'm not sure if that's normal. My surgeon gave me very little post op advice on what I should have expected or what not to do except, She did tell me I could lift 20lbs after the second week - I knew that wasn't right. (Thank goodness for the Internet). She didn't even examine me, internally, on my 6 week post op visit. I asked her why and she said she didn't think it was necessary. I know everyone is different but I'm wondering if my age is affecting my recovery time. I'm going to do you breathing exercises. Thank you.
